I'm thinking Jack White could be a possible first ballot when he's eligible, as well.HughFreakingDillon said:
I'd say all those except STP are good bets. STP was good, but not groundbreaking in the least.BV84003 said:
Tool, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Beck, Dr. Dre and more notable names all become eligible next year. I'm sure someone's bound to get in on the first try.Zod said:
My best guess would be the Foo Fighters in 4 years, but I think they're the last of the big rock bands.igotid88 said:Pearl Jam are probably the last band to get in first ballot for awhile

And rock & roll started from the blues, which pretty much influenced everything that didn't exist before it.HughFreakingDillon said:
their inductions seem to make no sense. of course it's all subjective, but some artists getting in at all vs some artsts who either don't or take years after first eligible makes it kind of a joke.camel1206 said:Not so much a joke, the name just needs to be changed. I love 2pac, I wouldn't consider him Rock N Roll of course. He does more than deserve to be in a music hall of fame.
I could go either way on the name. I think most things started from RNR (except country, hence their own hall), so the name fits.
Agree on the inductions having no rhyme or reason. This is Yes' 26th year of eligibilty, but only their 3rd time on the ballot? If they're eligible, why aren't they on the ballot every year? lol... Those bands were all big, but I never thought they were Nirvana/PJ big. I guess someone on that list has to get inducted though. Probably Dr. Dre

I hope Ed takes the mic, looks out into the crowd, scratches his head, and says:
"I don't know what this means, I don't think it means anything"
and then Stone thanks Dave A, Mike gives him a weird look, and they all walk off.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
They already are. I remember first hearing them on Classic Rock radio almost 10 years ago when I was living in Edmonton. It's kind of sad because classic rock stations really only play the biggest hits bands have. So all you hear are the songs off of Ten :( Once a while if you get lucky something from vs or vitalogy, but 25 years in, and they still lean so heavy on Even Flow, Alive, and Jeremy :(buck502000 said:Does this make Pearl Jam "classic" rock?

every band this old ends up on those radio stations. that demographic grew up with them, and that's who is listening to their station. but their sound is not classic rock by any means.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0

Just saw that the day after the ceremony, the Nets are playing the Bulls. Maybe Ed & Jeff will hit up the game!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

I cared when Nirvana got in, and I sorta but not really care about this. Anything to do with PJ interests me, but in the big picture, I don't see the Hall as some great honour. I consider it more of a novelty than anything else.SVRDhand13 said:
