Well seeing as it was remastered for vinyl it makes sense that version sounds best. Quality of Pearl Jam presses has been very subpar since binaural
  • agree wtih op. this sounds incredible. solid definition throughout. very clean record with no hiss and pops for me at least. best sounding vinyl ive heard in a while. wasnt expecting much when the last release vault i got was garbage.

Never owned the OP, but this thing sounds great. Only disappointment, was looking forward to showing my wife the pics in the booklet, trying to find the "yield shapes" in each picture. Not sure if the original pressing has big pics, the pics in my cd are bigger than the reissue.

My original Yield and No Code are in mint shape and they sound as good, if not better, than my reissue.. it's a tough comparison to do, and I'm certainly biased to the originals, but because I treat mine with professional care, the sound from the originals is freakin stellar. Played on a MusicHall mmf 2.2LE turntable with the Blue 2M Ortofon cartridge through an Arcam a19 amp and Tannoy DC4 bookshelf speakers. Play on folks. Enjoy them reissues and originals. Vinyl tastes good!

When I get my reissues the originals are being sealed away until that day arrives when they need to be set free again.

I've always been happy with my original but now some of you are tempting me to spend more money. Stop that!

I'm also glad that people are getting these reissues! Its not like you're getting some crap bootleg - so newbs, enjoy these records & audiophile/nerds, relax - the OPs are still awesome!

Exactly. Both copies are good, I was just really impressed with the reissue and you can't beat it for the money, especially if you don't own an original copy on vinyl already. I just wanted to note the differences I heard while doing a comparison. Remember one thing that most people seem to let fly out the window a lot too- we all have different ears and hear things slightly differently and we are all listening in different rooms with different equipment. My original copy will remain in my collection but will be played much less now because its more valuable and the new copy sounds really good. Its really a win win.

    This.
Or just buy a second copy of the reissues and store the originals in a vault!

I'm hearing that there seems to be warping issues with the No Code reissue from a lot of people.
Anyone hear this or can attest?

My Yield copy has a slight warp but doesn't effect anything.

The warping is Stone's fault. He wants the A/C at the warehouse kept at 88.

You would think he would want it at 58 so he could break out the turtleneck's again. Oh well

I have head that, and it is suggested that it has to do with the packaging

here's a thread I created at another forum/message board about the re-issues - it's worth the time to read.

Hmmm, looks like we may see a line forming here soon to return warped No Code records.

Thanks for this, buck. I'm only a few pages in and thankful you linked it. If only I didn't have a fantasy draft right now I'd finish it.
