Hmmm, don't really like it without Eddie's early 90's voice.
Cool that they did it though.
Interesting to see played again, but yeah, it sounded pretty bad IMO (i didn't think it's a very good song in the first place though). Not complaining. Throwing in unexpected rarities is great, even if it's not a good song.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
I was there and it was magical. Great time getting to share the story/history of this song with my concert neighbors. Lots of first timers. Hail Hail The Lucky Ones!
Im going to say something controversial in that I didnt think the performance of it was that great. Maybe under rehearsed :-D I love PJ and its just my honest thought. Great they played this though.
I was in high school when that single arrived in the mail. Won't bore you with the woe-is-me story but that song means a lot to me. I'd probably have sobbed my ass off if I heard it live. Super cool of them to play it.

There has been a lot of this the last few years. I love that they reach deep into their catalog, that's a big part of why I keep going back. But there is no excuse for a band at their level to play anything that's not rock solid.. Especially in front to thousands of people.
There was a time in pj's career when Every song was better live.
I thought the song was fine. I don't know what everyone is getting so bent out of shape about. It wasn't perfect but you have to nitpick to find stuff glaringly wrong with it.
Perhaps they're greasing the wheels for a Hall of Fame reunion? True, it does not sound like the 90s version, but listen to it again and let the shock where off. It does sounds pretty good. Stone sounds fantastic.
Anyway, I'm glad they threw Dave A some luv. They should play it more; throw him some royalties. What amazing gift to have Eddie Vedder write and sing lyrics to a tune he wrote. From the 90s video you can see Dave is pleased as a mofo.
I just finally got the time to check this out and I thought it sounded good live, no complaints here...Ed's voice was fine and considering it had not been played in 20+ years..cmon!!!
I'll agree that it didn't sound fantastic and I was there, but what else do we have to compare it to..the studio version? a boot recording from 1992-1994? The studio version was a single guitar and TONS of harmonies, just not possible in a live setting. Mix that with 22 years of time and probably only being rehashed a couple of times before hand and that's what you get. I'm just so thrilled I was there to hear it. I think the only part that wasn't "dead on" was Ed's vocals and again that's age, voice changing over time, and lack of the harmonies from the original recording.
Blessed, I thought I was headed towards the angels, but I had not moved, much like Ed's story about his hands. Speechless til now, really. Still...Fuck, what are the words for this for those of us there. Out of this realm for damn sure!!! IDK.
