"Pearl Jam Boy" is using his rock star fame to give back Featured Written by Kaitlyn Connolly
BAR HARBOR- The boy who got the experience of a lifetime is using his experience to donate to children who might not ever get the chance. Noah Keeley, also known as Pearl Jam boy, has taken his new found fame and decided to give back to the world, just like his favorite band. "We wanted to donate to one of PJ's charities, and we wanted to donate to this one because its such an insane disorder" said Noah.
He decided to raise money and awareness for EB, or Epidermolysis Bullosa, a disease that effects the skin, which is the largest organ in the human body. The disease affects young children, causing blisters and open sores both in and outside of the body. Noah says that by helping this disease, "it can be kid to kid, pass on the wave".
A video of a young boy named Mikey living with the disease is what inspired Noah to give back. You can watch the video here.
Noah's is fundraising for the disease by pairing with Pearl Jams organization, and giving away two tickets to their show in August. He said he cant wait to share this experience with the winner, saying "The things Eddie speaks out about in his speeches during encores, its pretty amazing to be in that experience".
Noah plans on being a rock star one day, and will continue to inspire the world in more ways then just his music, just like his favorite band. "Its not just the music, but the things they donate to. All the environmental causes" said Noah.
You have 23 more days to win the Pearl Jam tickets, as well as a signed tambourine. All proceeds will go towards the EB foundation and finding a cure. To donate, here is Noah's website.
You can also visit Pearl Jam's website for more information.
