My philosophy is better safe than sorry. I think how much keeping it in a tube for a year ruins it probably depends on the humidity and probably the paper of the poster itself. I personally wouldn't risk it. I just got a flat portfolio with a handle. I can carry the whole thing to the framers and not worry about tubes for transport.mrussel1 said:

By taking it out of the tube, having it in a flat file and layering acid free paper in between, less damage is done to the posters.
