That said, I'm kind of underwhelmed after listening to both tracks. They sound basically the same and lyrics are heavily subdued in both of them. Really hope the album doesn't end up being 10,000 Days II.
You didn’t like 10,000 days?
I don't dislike it, but I'd easily rank it 4th out of all the full-length albums. And only because Opiate is pretty dated and premature in the evolution of the tool sound does it outrank it.
I loved 10,000 Days. 2nd fav Tool album behind Aenima. Vicarious might be my fav song from them. The Pot, Lost/Keys/Rosetta Stoned, and Jambi are really good I think.

The Pot is probably in my top 5. I've never actually sat and thought about that with tool songs. That'll give me a little project to do. I do like Vicarious. Aenima is my #1 album as well. I listened to the shit out of that album! Can you still get the lenticular CD case for it? I left mine on the car seat one day back in college and the fucker melted to high hell. Never tried to get a replacement. Thankfully the CD was in the stereo so it survived just fine.
I'm taking my girlfriend to her first Tool show, and so I've been playing a lot of Tool for her lately. Your comment was pretty close to what I told her about "Jambi" haha.

Last tour I drove and drove to see them in VA then they added a show slightly closer to me in Hershey
Glad I caught both. 2 highlights:
They played Eulogy the only time since 2001 with Maynard. This was the week Chris Cornell died.
And during the Jambi solo, Adam's talk box wasn't loud enough. As the solo ended and the band was moving on in the song, Adam leaves his normal spot and walks center stage with his back to the crowd to get the band's attention. They seamlessly go back to the solo which Adam plays in standard fashion without the talk box effect

Very awesome. And lucky to see "Eulogy"!

My buddy & I toyed with the idea of driving down the coast to VA for the Hampton show on Friday... sadly, it wasn't meant to be, but some fall shows will ease the sting (fingers crossed).
Prison Sex This is and always will be the song that drew me to this band. That haunting guitar in the beginning just turns my crank... Rosetta Stoned H Jambi Swamp Song
It's really hard to leave out Pushit and Stinkfist...
Lateralus 46 & 2 Third Eye Eulogy Parabol/Parabola
Way too many I am leaving off to feel like this is a true list for me. I find it easier to do a top 5 for Pearl Jam than I do for Tool. It really depends in the mood of the day.

Jambi is a Top 10 Tool song for me.

Top 5 TOOL songs.
Go.
Immediate, shooting from the hip response:
Eulogy
Aenima
Lateralus
4 Degrees
Pushit (Salival version)
Was going to go w/ Hooker with a Penis as # 5, but I can't deny Pushit.
I would also probably fine tune this list if I were to put more thought into it, I'm sure.
Jambi, Lateralus, Eulogy, Ænima, The Grudge
Salival Pushit really is an amazing track, and I also love Forty Six & 2.
Rosetta Stoned
H
Jambi
Swamp Song
It's really hard to leave out Pushit and Stinkfist...
How the hell did you get the A&E to do that?!?

Can't believe I left 46&2 or Stinkfist off... or Third Eye. Damn. (I LOVE how they brought that back into the set list for 2017)
If I were to do a Top 10, it would be 60-70% Aenima tracks.
Damn, now I'm rethinking my list...
