Comfortably Numb is the Best Cover They Have Ever Done

True or False

Saw it in Toronto. Listened to the Greenville FLAC. It makes my hair stand up.

Hope it becomes a fixture closer to a Crazy Mary than it does a "tour piece" like Fortunate Son or Know Your Rights.

Its phenomenal.

  • Pretty awesome for sure - I'm so glad they have incorporated new covers into their sets.

I like it for sure. But I'm partial to Real Me. I just think they are set up perfect for the Who. The version at the VH1 awards is just perfect. I can say the worst was probably Waiting on a Friend. I love the song, but it just didn't work...

They play it well. But I don't really like Eddie singing it. Same with "Mother." It's not that he does them bad or good or whatever...I just don't dig it.

Ed is the only one I like singing Comfortably Numb. Don't like the original at all. And I agree with Real Me as a great cover too.

I've heard it twice and it was great both times. Mostly because of Mike crushing the solo at the end. But it's not the best, Love Reign O'er Me is my favorite right now.

I don't think it's the best cover they've done... not even all that close IMO. Don't get me wrong - it's a GREAT cover. But they have done a lot of great covers!

I'll stick baba or RITFW as the best ever (even if overplayed) but comfortably numb is right behind and amazing live (thanks philly 2)

I think it's Love, Reign O'er Me, personally. But I guess it's not a 'what's your favorite cover' thread. :)

I just needed a strong headline, lol.

It is my favorite one though.

I love the song. I think the cover is well done, and I think McCready really carries it with his solos. Hope I get to see it live some day.

Haven't seen it live yet but it's awesome

I'll go with Love, Reign O'er Me for ones I've seen.

MSG1 2010 was so great. I'll never forget the security guard turning to me when it was over and saying "holy shit that was gooood"

you can make a pretty airtight case for LROM.... I mean, how many other acts/leads can even pull it off?

To me Comfortably Numb is right in Eddie's wheelhouse. MOther not so much at times.

    False!

Agree with 2-feign-reluctance need/want more new covers!

I still have so many I want to hear! At the TOP would be Reign and Little Wing!!
Oh please let it rain today.

I agree - and it seems like the perfect set of solos for Mike's style of guitar playing.

The band really does a great job covering this song, and it's refreshing to hear new stuff!
