99.9% sure that was Matt Cameron's son playing guitar on RITFW. He's done it before, and I mean he looks just like him. Good show, wild to feel the floor bouncing at MSG. Jealous of the people behind the stage and side stage lower bowl. My floor seat wasn't terrible and I had great seat mates.

    Hasta mañana.

I'll second the opinion that this really did feel like a warm-up for something crazy awesome tomorrow. No Avocado songs here or at the prior two shows. Hoping to hear a lot tomorrow in celebration of its 10th year of existence.

First full PJ show ever for me! (I saw them at Global Citizens Fest, but that was only an hour long set)...Great people in my section, 216. Amazing energy from the crowd.

Highlights for me was Release, Jeremy, and Why Go, but, frankly, everything was on fire tonight. Place was shaking during some parts of the show. Loved the back and forth with that Kenneth guy, hilarious. Also, was that John McEnroe sitting of to the side there? They threw him on the big screen briefly.

MONSTER main set. Just an incredibly amazing main set and the band/crowd energy was thru the roof. The main set was just relentless.

I have no idea what we're in store for tomorrow, but I know it's going to something special.

The band and crowd were great. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the set list (wasn't bad or anything). There were some highlights for me like rats, down, whipping and porch is always great live. The two covers were different (I'll admit I didn't know what they were).

    Looking forward to night 2

What a show. They were not fucking around in that first set! One of the best first-sets I've ever seen, Crowd was totally engaged the whole night-- typically MSG crowd, maybe even next level.
Had a great time and generally around good chill 10clubbers. a few beers were had, a few bathroom breaks, some out-of-tune singing, but nothing out of line. Oh, wait, one little incident (section107), to the woman in front of me who sat most of the night and then threw up on the chair/clothes of the woman in front of her - i do hope you feel better and are ok, I also hope that you take it down a notch for the next show -- i can't imagine you enjoyed that. Don't worry, someone else cleaned up your mess. And to the absolutely beautiful woman with the glasses who was the recipient of vomit woman -- so sorry. You looked disgusted and in disbelief. I guess you lost the lottery tonight- hope it didn't ruin your show! Unfortunately, these thins happened. I guess be glad no drunken bro fell out of his seat and knocked you over a couple of rows (see Philly story).

Oh, and here are some photos i took:

I'll preface this by saying I know a lot of people didn't make it in the building, and I'm incredibly grateful to have been one of those who did. That being said, this is #3 for me this year.

The crowds at Philly 1 and 2 seemed to have sooo much more energy than the crowd tonight, aside from perhaps the "greatest hits" type songs. This may be entirely too subjective. Had a seat in 213, where there were I kid you not 40 or so people directly in front of me who sat through the entire show. Had 10C for both Philly shows.

Setlist was awesome though. Really stoked to hear Go, Rats, Down, Whipping, The End. Got Release last show but always down to hear it two nights in a row. And like I said, all the mainstays sounded fantastic tonight, particularly Black and Alive. Not a fan of Crown of Thorns being in such heavy rotation these days but the accompanying solo tonight was fantastic.

Crawling in bed right now to get some rest for tomorrow. Think my lukewarm opinion of tonight relative to the Philly shows might also be influenced by how absolutely drained I am from following this tour. Averaging about 4 hours of sleep/night the past few days.

While this show ranks near the bottom for me, it's still better than any other non-PJ show I've ever been to. I've had so much fun following this band this year that I'm playing with the idea of selling my MSG Radiohead tickets to go to one more Pearl Jam show instead.

I went to an amazing concert at Madison Square Garden tonight.

    What concert did you see?

Interesting setlist - some cool stuff (rats, hail, hail, in hiding), lots of repeats. I took a quick look at the Philly/BK shows from 2013 (the shows I went to that tour) and the last 3 shows

2013: 83 different songs across four shows
2016: 60 different songs across three shows

so, unless they play a lot of different songs tomorrow night, it will be less diverse. Obviously, this is a small sampling, but Philly/NYC (imo) are big shows and indicators of what the band has up its sleeve. I for one don't need to hear Unthought Known/Given to Fly/Even Flow/Why Go/Jeremy/Better Man/Porch/ lighting bolt/mym etc as much as they're playing them, especially given that I was at PHL2 and heard Ten in the best possible circumstance. I know this is personal, but I would really like to hear more from Avocado, Riot Act, binaural, as well as some of the lesser played tracks from backspacer (force of nature, for instance) and LB (Getaway, for one). And in my opinion, none of the rarities/lost dogs played at the last three shows (all night/down/in the moonlight/education/bee girl/) are as strong as Fatal, Sad, Strangest Tribe, Alone, Brother.

Every show is unique and special in its own right. I was at Philly1 and MSG 1. I don't even compare them - just enjoy being part of it all. It is a shame some fans feel the need to comment on which shows they feel were "the best" and which they felt were "warm ups for something greater to come." Nothing like putting pressure on the band and making fans that don't have tix for another show feel like they are missing out. Come on, man - just be grateful for this incredible band and the awesome fans. I think everyday, how lucky I am to have found something so special in my life that brings such joy - don't take if for granted! The show kicked ass tonight as did Philly and all the shows in the past, and I am sure upcoming shows in the future. Be good!

The 200 level thing is similar to Philadelphia. I was in 207 for the first part of Friday and thought the same but tonight in sitting 118, the energy was alive from the outset other than the guy who was passing out behind me. So maybe it's a 200-100 thing in terms of energy?

I have to agree with AlaG. I sat in 10c country at the 2 philly shows and the crowd was awsome. Tonight I was in 224 and the it was lamest bunch i have ever seen at a show. The 1st 5 rows sat through the entire 1st encore. Surrounded by people that woke up for Jeremy, then went to back to sleep. Thankfully they left after the 1st encore. It sucks that people that did not seem to want to be at show took tickets away from real fans that wanted to be there but could not get in the building.

That said the band was great tonight, especially Mike during Black. One of the best performances of that song I have seen. The sound was also a huge improvement over philly, it was nice and clear rather than the muddy sound at the wells fargo center.

Looking forward to msg 2 and sitting in the lower bowl.

211 was rocking out. The fans on the floor, especially in front of Mike, were really rocking out. All I saw was a ton of energy in the building.

Great show. Loved Off He Goes, wish I could hear that song every night. Mid-set Release was amazing. Can't wait for tomorrow night.

The show was great, the setlist was great and especially Mike was on fire tonight (probably more than I have ever seen him, his solo during Black was out of this world).
But I have one problem with this show: The band (or volume) was simply too loud. Imo it was atleast 10% to 20% louder than in Philly and the last 4 MSG shows. The problem with that is, it pretty much drowned out the crowd and took a lot of the crowd energy. I hope they correct this for tomorrows show.
And during RITFW I was convinced that it was Dhani Harrison on stage. Looks like I was wrong.

Interesting how people have different opinions on the same show. I thought the crowd was WAY better than Philly especially night 1. The pit was moving and jumping all night and Philly 1 it was like they were asleep. I thought it was a great show with a lot of energy from the crowd

Funny you say that; I thought it was Harrison too. No one I talked too seemed to even notice him ... whoever he was.
It was Ray, Matt Cameron's son, I'm pretty sure that Eddie mentioned him. He used to play RITFW a lot in Europe in 2014.
