First print of the ModernRockArt.net print series is up ... and ... it's ok ... not fantastic.

    http://modernrockart.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=137

Again, this series was to be 12 prints from a lot of today's best print artists ... the set was $300, so, essentially, $25 per print ... the lineup was ... (with one to go twice, we don't know who that is yet)

    Daniel Danger
    Dirk Fowler
    Justin Hampton
    Gary Houston
    Rob Jones
    Mike King
    Brad Klausen
    Mike Klay
    Punchgut
    Jermaine Rogers
    Diana Sudyka

Quite a killer lineup ... next month's print is Diana Sudyka ... she's done some killer work for the Decemberists ... like this one ...

    http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/45435

It'll be intersting to the reaction to BK doing an art print ... I think it's his first.

I got the sub it was between this or McCarthy's and I went with this....

The first print is simple and I will have to wait till I get it to decide if I like it, however it is in line with Fowler's work (so what did you expect) he did some wilco prints for the last tour that were just as simple but that I really liked.

They are saving the best for last :)

I think you answered your own question.... It would probably take a lot more than a Gorge poster.

I meant to add in that I would trade some more for it, not just the gorge :)

Yeah I hear ya, but I would be willing to trade a few posters for dusseldorf.

Not pushed on the first poster of the sub, but I know it'll have been worth it when the BK and Hampton come round and I reckon the spare one will come from one of these two :D

I was on the fence about the sub as well. The first print tipped me over to the "no way" page, cause 3 bills is a lot to drop on unknowns when there are only 2-3 artists on there whose work I consistently like.

I considered the option of buying it and flipping the fuglies, but that would just prove Speedy correct and I can't let that happen. ;)

Believe me, that helped shape my decision. They're not even decent trade bait.

    Speaking of..... ;)
Got my Big Pop Lolla Abe poster in the mail today, as well as my Downing Creek aka Jeff Wood. Downing Creek put a shitload of extras in with it. My hubby is enamored with a mini poster that states "I support the President's right to a fair trial."

This is my first Drowning Creek / Wood, and I'm very pleased with it. Amazing detail, great colors. Would be nice if Jeff Wood did a PJ poster. Bet it wouldn't have monkeys, swamp beasts or wholly mammoths in it.

Wood did this one that came out earlier this year ... I love it, but, I haven't pulled the trigger on it as I just don't dig the bands it promotes ...

If I ever shake the whole "I'll only buy posters for bands/events I like" issue ... I'll go after this one ...

I like the prints he puts out ...
