I have a lot of thoughts related to homophobia after reading that (I find homophobia extremely upsetting), but there is no link to sexism or racism in that article as far as I can tell, so I don't understand why, of all questions that could be asked, you asked the one that you did.

FWIW, the quotes about how a part of "straightness" involves viewing homosexual sex as gross really piss me off.... 1) that isn't true for many, many non-homophobic straight people in any case, and 2) I'd like to meet a straight man who says he's not turned on by some girl-on-girl action and who thinks all homosexual action is "gross" and first call him a liar for saying he doesn't get turned on from girl-on-girl action and then throw his hypocrisy in his bigoted face.
PS - Brokeback Mountain is a cinematic masterpiece IMO
