Nothing against those getting tickets shipped but I hope the tickets are plain white and lousy looking different than the will call tickets. I'm for any avenue that would devalue the tickets on the secondary market.
I am going to assume that the vast majority of people who won tickets through the lottery are real PJ fans who are not selling their tickets. I have no intention of selling mine. I swapped my extra night 2 for a night 1 with another fan club member and i'm looking forward to both shows. And if there are brokers who are obtaining tickets-- the appearance of those tickets won't impact the secondary market at all. Further - even without the shipping option, those brokers would simply sell the tickets and make arrangements to meet the purchaser at the concert.
I've read Albany is totally corrupt. Law makers and politicians have been getting arrested left and right. Terrible bill cuomo. Someone must be greasing his pockets.

1. The law now incentifies brokers to become 10c members 2. Brokers didn't bother going thru the hassle to meet in person not worth the time and effort
My only question is... Will they purposely exclude people from the lottery who choose to get the seats shipped? I doubt they want all the first and second row tickets floating around on the free market weeks before the show.
Is that going to be really so vital when the immediate area to the front is GA?
I expect the carrier on these is quoting these high figures for shipping - not the Tenc.
Perhaps there are cheaper carriers out there but im sure international post is going with a tracked and signed for service and that's just the cost being charged. I know from using fedex previously from the Uk to the USA the price of such a service is not at all cheap
But I do not imagine any international member opting to do this when they can be picked up for free?
I guess what Im saying is don't blame the 10c here, its just a service they appear to have to offer and are doing so at the cost to them.

Premise no. 2 is simply wrong. I have personally met brokers twice at concerts, including at a paperless ticket Radiohead show. Its done all of the time.

Roseland 2011? I gave a ticket to a friend even though people were offering me a grand for it while waiting online!!!

No, i wish i was at that one! It was Newark. That was the only time i ever paid a broker.
The other time was for a Clapton/Winwood show at the Garden. Through business, a vendor took me and paid a broker for 10th row floor seats. You had to pick up your tickets for those seats with a matching ID and then you went straight into the show (ie., you could not just turn around and go meet someone with the tickets). So the Broker met us and gave me a nosebleed seat behind the stage so i could get in, The broker took the other guy in with him. And i met them in the show, exchanged tickets, and the broker then left the arena to do it again. They will always find a way around the rules.
Another example was the Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London in 2007. The promoter tried to cut out the brokers (you had to wait until day before the show, pick up your tickets with a matching ID and have a code, which you only got if you won a lottery. There was still a huge secondary market. I know people who paid for codes on ebay and were able to get tickets.

I meant the power players not all brokers. yes some outfits with go thru the hassles but the power players will not. Pm the site you used to purchase those tickets, I'm curious.
how do they know they wont need iD to pick up the bands?
I hope so...
If they're not requiring ID to get the TICKETS in person, I'm sure you would either just show your GA tickets and get the wristband, OR (likely) they'll be included with the tickets in the mail. New York sucks, isn't that where the concert/ticket investigation is going on?

its been a few years; i don't remember the broker (and for the second show, i didnt buy the tickets, so not sure who they used).
I hope they require ID for the GA wristbands at the venue... totally fuck any 10c members trying to flip these tix... just have a list of all 10c GA tix and if you're name is not on the list you don't get in
I decided to have them send them to me, since I'm flying in from Chicago. I'll have the tickets for the other show in hand anyway, since I got them from ticketmaster.
It's been over a decade since I've gotten tickets from Will Call, does anyone know how long the Will Call window is open for? Right up until the start of the show? I figured I would get to the arena an hour before the show and grab my tickets then, assuming most other people will have already waited in line and gotten them earlier, so it would be a quick process for me. If that's not an option though I will just have them shipped. Don't really want to wait in line when I can be exploring NYC bars before the show!

For Wrigley I picked mine up day of show around 3 I think and for Cincinnati around 1 day of. Was able to walk right up for both shows with no wait. For Wrigley though I know we were able to get them the day before.

They're open for a little while AFTER the band starts playing. You'll be fine with an hour.

I am getting my tickets shipped to me. I remember the lines in Brooklyn took forever. It is just easier to have them in hand and not have to run out from the pre game bar to wait in line to pick up the tickets.

I've never waited more than a minute or two and I'm pretty sure Will Call is open right up until the show starts.
Meh 17 bucks is two more drinks pregame at the bar, or like 1.5 in the arena. I've spent enough already, plus it's not worth it for them to possibly get lost in the mail or having to be home to sign for them. I can spare the ten minutes waiting at will call early in the afternoon before I head to bar.
