I personally like the slower start... the slower, atmospheric songs are some of their best work

And that's still rock and roll... not everything has to be hard & intense to be good

Not at all. I like slower starts too. Just not all the time. What I like most is variety.

We got animal, go, whipping as an opener in 93. That's pretty aggressive.

The slower openers let you get slowly acclimated.

The fast ones make you instantly lost.....in my experience anyway.... which isn't alot.....
I think the only hard rocking opener I got was Animal in Philly 2009....
    Instantly lost.

Perhaps the fact that the hard rocking songs are NOT the norm for the opener is what makes it so special when you do get them. (Or maybe it would just always be special.....)

I would so cream my jeans if this happened.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

I'm so happy to see this. I'm wasn't liking the constant "Pendulum into another mellow song" thing they've been doing over the past two years.

Blood or not, it's really cool that they are opening with a bang so far this tour. A soft (but powerful) opening like Release is great too (I'm not so big on the Pendulum opener, even though I like the song), but not all the time. Variety is the spice of life!
