For those coming from out of town and thinking of staying downtown (or if you just live downtown)...

My friend owns a small bar in downtown Ottawa (and he's coming to the show). We are looking into renting a school bus that would pick us up at the bar, take us out to the concert then bring us back afterwards. Saves the hassle of public busing/expensive parking at the arena.

Final pricing would be $10-15 CAD depending on the numbers (I think the quote was ~400 for the rental that can seat 40+).

We already have 6 confirmed with our friends. If others are interested, let me know and we can look at setting it up.

At least three more with my group, maybe 5.

Interested but what time would the bus be heading up to the arena? I would like to be there and spend some time @ the Wishlist Foundation Pre Party, if the pre party is held at the same location the '11 was taken place.

What hotel are folks looking at?

Pretty much staying downtown Ottawa. Last time I stayed close to the arena nothing exciting was around. Everything was happening downtown.

Oh yeah, if anyone still has an extra GA Ottawa ticket please let me know.
    Thanks!

Also @heebeejeebee is looking to fill up a bus from downtown to the CTC so you might want to sign up for that.

23 minute drive if there's no traffic.

The Wishlist Foundation Pre Party is right at the venue.

My wife and I are going to the Ottawa show! Woot, woot! Staying near the CDN Tire Centre. Will be there a day early to check out the downtown tastes, and sights. See you all at the Pre-Party, and maybe the Byward market the day before.

Getting psyched! Ottawa is proving to be a little limited with transportation from Quebec, looks like we might be flying in vs taking the train.

Might be interested in the bus as well, awesome idea!

It's a long commute any way you look at it. We decided to fly via Porter. Faster but more $$, and gives us a little more time in Quebec City.

The train isn't bad. Leave QC around noon get to Ottawa before eight and that's with the layover in Montreal that's long enough to grab dinner. Can't be beat for like 60 bucks. Just note that via rail assigns seats so if you want to sit with people you either have to book everyone together or call Via and get them to change it. Which they are happy to do.

For my good Pearl Jam pals coming from out of town and staying around the Byward Market...if you need a parking spot, you might want to ask your hotel what they provide because they closed down one of the larger parking garages for repairs until early May. I'm not sure what early May consists of so maybe it will be done in time for the concert!

That's what I'm thinking about doing. There's one @ 5:35AM that goes straight to Ottawa. A little too early on my vacation break. The other times are stopovers in Montreal.

We fly from Quebec City to Ottawa, less than $100 with Air Canada. Saves a lot of time. Who knew flying was relatively cheap when you don't live on an island in the middle of the atlantic?

We are also staying downtown Ottawa, I hear busses run from the Rideau Centre to the CTC regularly, so that's probably our plan.
