    One of our illustrious ex-governors ( I think it was Dukakis) in about 85 or so decided he was going to spearhead a campaign against drunk driving by eliminating happy hour in the commonwealth. It has come up for repeal a few times but none of the elected officials has the balls enough to explain that eliminating happy hour has in no way decreased DUI's or alcohol related accidents.

    There is no happy hour special, so to speak. But lots of bars have dealt with this by having a cheap beer all the time. For example, "the avenue" on commonwealth ave in Allston (a neighborhood about a mile from Fenway) has $2 drafts of certain types, all the time. Other bars have discounted prices on pitchers.

    It's legal to be cheap all the time, just not at certain times.

    It's illegal in Massachusetts. BUT - doesn't mean you can't find cheap drinks @ some divier places.....

    RE: parking -- whenever I'm driving into a show from Worcester, I usually use these folks: http://www.parkwhiz.com/ - Cheap & usually event-only (so only if you plan on staying for the show and not several hours after it's over).

    I think now that there is probably only going to be realistically 1 shot at tickets and that being on your first priority I am going to move the 2nd night into the first priority slot. Seems like more people are putting the first night as there first priority and the second night has slightly better odds.

    Also a note to out of towners who take the T to the show..... The Fenway stop on the Green line is not Fenway Park. You will need to get off at Kenmore. It is the stop closest to Fenway Park. Also the E train doesn't got there as you can see on the map. B,C and D trains access Kenmore.

    The bus system is the best kept secret. It goes everywhere the train doesn't, which is a lot of places. The train map makes it look like its convenient to most places, but there is a lot of space between those train lines...
