What do you want the next album to sound like?

vaggar99vaggar99 San Diego USA Posts: 3,426
I'd like to hear something completely different from the band....perhaps an experiment into modern pop and/or dance. I feel like they could do some really awesome stuff within those genres. okay, let the skewering begin!

Not like the last few albums anyway, because they were pretty bad.

    Pop and dance? ..... YIKES
Keep it rock baby. Instruments. Vocals. Throwing/smashing stuff in the studio during recording. That's what I want

I hope it sounds like however the band wants it to sound (how's that for a non-answer, lol?).

That said, I love when a band experiments and goes outside their (and the fans') comfort zones and take us on unexpected journeys (a la Led Zeppelin III, lol).

    I totally agree
The band should record what they feel passionate about.

There's no doubt the last two albums have been written and produced to gain / appeal to a wider mass audience.

I really like LB but haven't listened to Backspacer for a while.

I want something that the band wants to do. Not just do something that they think everyone else wants. If we get something the band wants to do then we know they're doing it for the right reasons and I think we'll get a much better album.

something not produced by brendan o'brien... and would love to hear a more aggressive, raw, emotional album like vs/vitalogy... they need to get in the studio with rick rubin, i can only imagine how fucking epic that would sound...

An album like Yield that has a variety would be cool.

I like the last two albums, but would like something experimental now. Something out of their comfortzone. Maybe one piece of music, where songs, spoken word and instrumentals are all bound together. Something that makes us go wtf. A train that hits you do fast, it makes you spin.

Or where other musical cultural influences will be integrated in their songs. That would also be a big political statement these days. Let music unite

Didn't like the last one much, so I hope it's nothing like that. But I think Stone should write it. Should be good.

I'll take whatever obviously (gotta toss that in for the pc crowd) but I'd love something with a bit of a harder edge to it. A few mellow songs are always welcome, but I mean something along the lines of Vs or Self Titled. Not something that SOUNDS like those records necessarily, but just from a harder edge point of view.

I hope it sounds like Jeff and Stone writes it. I think the entire band is great but for this album I hope it sounds different and Jeff and Stone can pull it off.
