Belly was a great band (Tanya was very easy on the eyes!)....I remember they did a co-headlining tour with Radiohead in 1993.

Another great band was Mary's Danish

In between them videos I mean. I kept seeing PJ no. 1 on the chart but didn't see any videos and I couldn't afford CD's back then.

Don't think anyone has mentioned Goldfinger yet. Or The Nixons.

Great shout, I used to love this album. It's such a shame what happened to them

I've got to mention Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. One of my favourite bands of the 90s without question, and one of the best indie bands the UK has ever produced.

They're probably better known as DJs now (2manydjs, Radio Soulwax etc), but I used to love Soulwax when they were a band

Goldfinger got pretty big for a bit. All of the punk SoCal bands were hot for a while. Nixon is a good one. Forgot about them.

Whale was a great one! Seaweed was awesome.
^Goldfinger defintely had a taste of the mainstream.

I'll throw out Murder City Devils. They were (are?) a great late 90's band!

I remember them. I had the album with "Jenny Says" on it. I think it was stolen by an old roommate.

    I liked those guys.

I don't remember seeing it there. It managed to spend one week on MTV's Top 20 Countdown show at 20 in 1991.

I heard that Cowboy Mouth song on Lithium yesterday. Someone at SiriusXM is reading this thread.

    Harvey Danger, anyone?

Hear the voices in my head. I swear to God, it sounds like they're snoring

I'm gonna have a great time with this thread! A lot of great new music to discover. I don't quite want to except where music is heading today, so I'm kinda stuck in the 90s... Great thread OP!

Man, I dig the music of the 90s and all but there is some really good stuff out there nowadays if you look around. I'll just throw a few out off the top of my head. Check them out. Maybe one or two of them will strike your fancy. Or maybe not.

    The Hold Steady
    The Avett Brothers
    Ghost
    The National
    Arcade Fire
    Cage the Elephant

OK, well listen to ALL of them because those were several varieties of tea I listed. Ghost sound nothing like Avett Bros who sound nothing like The Hold Steady.

Clutch? They've been around since the 90s so maybe that's somewhere to start?
