I've got to mention Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. One of my favourite bands of the 90s without question, and one of the best indie bands the UK has ever produced.
How about Cowboy Mouth? Anyone familiar? They still come through S Carolina pretty regularly, but back in the day we could see them all the time at small clubs.

I'm gonna have a great time with this thread! A lot of great new music to discover. I don't quite want to except where music is heading today, so I'm kinda stuck in the 90s... Great thread OP!
Man, I dig the music of the 90s and all but there is some really good stuff out there nowadays if you look around. I'll just throw a few out off the top of my head. Check them out. Maybe one or two of them will strike your fancy. Or maybe not.
The Hold Steady The Avett Brothers Ghost The National Arcade Fire Cage the Elephant
How about Cowboy Mouth? Anyone familiar? They still come through S Carolina pretty regularly, but back in the day we could see them all the time at small clubs.
Yeah man! Great band, they started In Louisiana so I have always heard a lot from them.
Eh, I've listened to most of them. Not my cup of tea!
OK, well listen to ALL of them because those were several varieties of tea I listed. Ghost sound nothing like Avett Bros who sound nothing like The Hold Steady.
Clutch? They've been around since the 90s so maybe that's somewhere to start?

They're probably better known as DJs now (2manydjs, Radio Soulwax etc), but I used to love Soulwax when they were a band

^Goldfinger defintely had a taste of the mainstream.
I'll throw out Murder City Devils. They were (are?) a great late 90's band!
