Patagonia stuff is great quality. Colors are not the best, but I dig it. Just hope they stuff them with left overs from the warehouse before they ship. I don't care if mine is not sealed. What do you think Santos? Random mystery backpacks stuffed with goodies for Christmas?? Especially to those of us that bought them without bitching about tenclub all the time???

I typically look down on these merch offerings as cash grabs. There have been some pretty goofy, non-functional items, or functional items at ridiculous prices that people love, love, love. But I don't see an issue here. This is something useful and functional. This is priced appropriately for the product as evidenced from the prices on Patagonia's website. I'd snatch up the messenger bag if it wasn't so close to the holidays. Trying to save some cash for holiday gift giving, possible tour date(s), etc...People can rag on the color, and I can see why this wouldn't appeal to some, but I think it looks great. It looks like it belongs in Seattle these days. That vibrant green has been used by the Seattle Seahawks, and Seattle Sounders in recent years. So good job 10c. If it is still around post-holidays (and with all of the bitching about it, that's a possibility), I may just grab one for myself.

$129 seems expensive for me and I'm not big on the design. I don't like shiny platicy exteriors. I like more of the fabric/mesh look (like the older ones).

I have no problem with PJ selling merch. The more they put out the more often they are bound to sell something I want.

I do predict these will sell out and be worth a mint in two years time.

I like them! Backpack is similar to Seattle Seahawks' colors (Navy, Limeish, Black and Silver) and extremely useful. Nice work Santos.

I agree. I have no issues with merch (well... those Falla Sheep were over the top, but...). I'm happy that other are happy if I'm not personally interested. I'm still going to have an opinion, but if I don't have to like something it doesn't mean I don't think they should exist.
It is the plastic coating appearance on the bags that turn me off. Although I guess it probably makes them water resistant or waterproof.

I don't have a problem with all the merch, if it was just after a tour or something I would probably snag the backpack. Just can't justify buying it when I know a tour announcement is coming.

$129....damn. That's an expensive diaper bag for all you new fan boy Daddy's!

That is me! My wife has her Burberry, I have PJ!
and you will be the most badass Daddy on the block man! Anyone remember the neon shirt phase in the late 80s/early 90s? Hypercolour tees? Yeah, this badboy is a classic throwback to that neon phase!

I have noticed that this neon green is becoming stylish again. I've been seeing it on plenty of accessories and sports gear, etc. It's not for me, but it's definitely in line with current styles.

I think it looks like a trash bag with some lime green piping that says "pearl jam" on it. To me it looks like they are attempting to test the theory of "if it says Pearl Jam on it, can we sell anything?"

Patagonia are great bags for the most part in the way of quality. I have a PJ20 one and use it a few times a year and it serves me quite well. 10 club does a great job otherwise I wouldn't be here.

    Am I a "hater"?

The food here is horrible, and such small portions....

Here's the thing, for $100-$140, it just says "pearl jam" in a fully generic typewriter font. And ugly colors. I know Patagonia is high quality stuff, but it would just be nice to see a LITTLE BIT of creative thought put into merch this expensive. Why not a cool, unique logo? Why not a small cool exclusive graphic with Pearl Jam as a part of it. Just plastering "pearl jam" (at least it doesn't say Ten Club) on something that ugly to begin with, seems like little thought or planning went into it. I thought the PJ20 backpack was simplistic but at least the colors were cool.

I saw some cool shirts from the SA tour last week in a picture, there's one with a van/sunset on it and the van is painted up with LB logos like some weird 70s love van on the beach, great colors and design... and the other one had a cool artistic bird design... that was the first merch I've seen in what feels like years that was actually artistic and creative (not counting the last couple years of Halloween shirts which were cool and unique). MOST of what is sold in the shop here is just so, so generic and boring looking, and I guess these bags fit right in.

That said I don't mind the look of the messenger bag too much and have one in my cart, contemplating whether or not to hit continue...

If I was into hiking up mountains and shit I'd probably go for it, or if I was rich but really loved delivering newspapers then yeah, I'd rock that bag.
