The headmaster of the school came out and released a statement saying that there was absolutely nothing nefarious about this departure from the school. He had said that when the claims / rumours began 3-4 years ago, his staff and parents of kids began getting phone calls etc. for interviews.
Because of that.. he issued that statement.
JT has denied there is any NDA.
There is literally nothing legitimate that substantiates these claims. I'm open to be fact checked here.
To your point I'll say this:
It wouldn't surprise me if this was true. That's just based on JT being JT ... I don't consider him to be a great person if that makes sense. He shouldn't be the sitting PM right now based on a handful of things.. none of which is this school stuff.
But there is a very big difference between me sitting here thinking "yeah, he probably was a dirt bag" and the leader of the opposition flaming these rumours in the house of commons. And then... dodging the questions. It's such a remarkable low blow. And to what Hugh was saying... two wrongs here, but a loose accusation of the PM being a sexual predator in a sense... you better have some receipts or something.
In as much as I would say JT shouldn't be PM for all of this failures... this borders on the leader of the opposition also having to lose his position making such a claim in the House without proof.
We can talk about this all day... but realistically... knowing Pierre is the way HE is... why not mention anything about an NDA when asked about this? So when Pierre is asked by the media... that was his opportunity to also suggest that whatever NDA is out there get lifted by JT.

All that said, I would still like a fulsome explanation as to why he left that job after just 6 months? Was it the blackface? Was he wearing his kilt Scottish-style when reading the story to children with his legs spread wide?Asking why he left the private school so abruptly remains a fair question and it’s on Trudeau to clear the air and until he does some people could reasonably imagine the worst (in addition to his racist acts he’s admitted to committing sexual assault as well, after all).
A question for the larger group here: it seems that a consensus is building that Trudeau isn’t fit to continue governing. Other than saying how terrible the Conservatives are and refusing to vote for them, what will you do? Can you vote for the NDP as an alternative? Is it right to leave someone of Justin’s qualities in place just because you’re afraid that if you don’t vote Liberal the Conservatives might win?
(For me the choice is simple: if there’s nothing offensive to me in the CPC platform I’ll vote for them as I wait for the Liberals to reclaim the centrist position and again become a viable vote for me. These days I actually find Blanchet to be the most reasonable and adult leader but I don’t get to vote for his party (and their separatism offends me, lol).)"The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

At this point though.... I don't think any of them will really solve any of our big problems. I suspect Trudeau would get elected again, because I think people stuck in the Centre will often vote to the left before they vote far on the right (not everyone, but not enough to win the Conservatives an election).
I will be curious to see what the conservative platform would be, but I suspect there's a solid chance, that if anyone from the 3 parties was voted in, they won't leave the country in a better place than they found it0 -

Getting back to Trudeau, if there’s no NDA in place then it makes me wonder even more why there’s no explanation to be easily found."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Consider this as well.. even though at the time I was fairly young.. I remember after Justin said his eulogy of his father at his funeral... that's when his political career sparked like a wildfire. When the public was like "Hey, check out Trudeau Jr.!" I guarantee the Liberal party also got a massive hard on for him. So it could have been a scandal at the school.. but my money would go towards betting on the Liberal party prying him away from that gig to start his political career. And again... it ended up being a win-win for the Liberals and Trudeau. (And a pretty big loss for Canada IMO)Toronto 2000

So today Toronto votes for a new mayor and I find myself in a bit of a conundrum, lol.
Initially I'd been considering voting for Mark Saunders but in the dying days of the campaign his tone became more and more desperate along with abandoning policy in favour of attacking Olivia Chow. It's something all the non-Chow candidates are doing and the almost messianic tone they use further turns me off. The least "offender" is Ana Bailao, however I disagree with enough of her policies that I can't vote for her. By no means do I want Mayor Chow but it seems inevitable at this point.
My "conundrum" arises moreso from a disparity in my own values and some other peoples' values. I firmly believe in voting for someone, not against another person's vote, and if there's no one I can support I'm comfortable not voting (with the possible option to spoil my ballot). To some, not voting means I don't get to complain for the term of government, something I don't agree with, especially if it's a conscious choice.
Ultimately I recognize I'm probably best adhering to my own beliefs, even when it results in an undesirable (to me, lol) outcome, so really not much of a conundrum but I thought there might be some interesting ground for discussion in there, lol."The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Those who say 'if you don't vote, you can't complain' ... While I understand where they are coming from, I'm with you with regards to a lack of good options when it comes to both candidates and parties.
I would say if anything, feel free not to vote and still have an opinion, but always be informed. The people who vote, but are not informed, or completely misinformed and complain all day long are far, far, far worse than those who don't vote. LOLToronto 2000

I think it was great that DoFo's preferred candidate, Saunders, was an afterthought once the election was done.
This Ontario PC Party has done what it's rich stakeholders intended all along; screw social services and everyone in the middle and lower classes, so that the private sector can enrich themselves. It's disgusting that this party operates like it had overwhelming support from the June 2022 election. 60+% of the people who voted, voted for a representative not from the PC Party.
They've torpedoed public health care, and now public education in the province is next. I hope the teachers' unions throughout the province don't cower like they did in March 2020.
Generally, Conservatives smile as they say they don't raise taxes..... as they starve social services prior to privatizing everything with business associates that they've been circle jerking for years. Gifting at its finest...... We just need more people to pay attention for positive change to occur.0 -

I suppose she has as much of a mandate as Ford or Trudeau, having won just over 30% of the vote.
And really, what does it matter what Saunders was doing, do you have profiles on the employment of all the other candidates? Since we currently have a PM whose credentials leave MUCH to be desired (did he actually manage to maintain a full time job prior to election? I haven’t heard of one but I’m happy to be proven wrong.) it’s all meaningless now, really. Vote based on vibe is the new rule!"The world is full of idiots and I am but one of them."

Not a fan of Mr. Trudeau, but I believe he has held down more jobs than Mr. Poilievre at this point.1996: Toronto

Have any of Trudeau’s jobs as an adult lasted longer than 6 months? I would think that would be highlighted by the CPC but other than “He’s just not ready” they haven’t.
Edit: His wikipedia page had him teaching in Vancouver for a couple years as a substitute teacher before his brief stint at the private school. I hate citing Wikipedia as a resource (I’ll continue checking into it) but I don’t really see any full-time employment in his history before becoming an MP (with an awful attendance record).

I once had a University professor that argued the skills needed to win an election are not the same skills needed to do the job. I don't disagree with the argument.

I watched 15 minutes of Pierre's 'Town Hall - Axe the Tax' meeting in Nova Scotia. Only word that I can accurately use to describe it is "Cringe."
There's a lot to unpack as to why it was awful.. but the thing I can't wrap my head around is why on earth is he doing this stuff? He's basically 100% in campaign mode... still pandering to the 'Never Trudeau' crowd..... with no election in sight.
He had a packed hall... some with signs that read "COMMON SENSE." Sorry folks... but packing yourself in a hall to hear Pierre grasp at straws and try to gain support when an election is miles and miles away is the furthest thing from 'common sense.'
I've said it once and I will say it again... if Charest was elected leader of the opposition, I think I'd be behind the Conservatives all the way. But I simply don't see Pierre as PM. He can use his populist tactics alllllll day long, but when crunch time comes around, Trudeau will mop the floor with him.
Our future... two polished turd candidates duking it out once again.Toronto 2000
