Really though, the back of the floor is the biggest problem. As someone else said, anywhere in the lower bowl is better than back of floor.

i think they should just throw all the tix in the lottery, with no choice between GA or RES. Maybe add a preference box somewhere if you definitely need a seat. You only know what you got when you pick the tickets up.

Liked the system used last go around. You choose GA or not. You know the odds. Small benefit for tenure.

Course my preference would be to get rid of GA and do seating with first rows lottery. But doubt that will ever again happen.

I think the GA system is perfect. Old members, new members and everyone in between have an equal shot ate winning the GA lotto. Then if you actually win and want to be up close, you show up early. If you're cool hanging in the back of GA, you show up later. Reserved seats are then given out based on seniority so you are rewarded for being a fan for a long time but it no longer guarantees you a spot up front, thus preventing many others who never had the chance to be close to the stage.

I think the 10C got it right and I hope it doesn't change. A lotto for rows 1-2 and 9-10 didn't feel like enough to me.

So I take it reserved side bowl seats are premium over reserved floor seats behind GA? I lucked out with 2nd row floor seats in Buffalo right on the aisle and thought they were better than middle or last row in the lower side bow.

This isnt true though. It isnt equal.

Whoever gets more memberships and buddies up with others with multiple memberships have an exponentially better chance at tickets to many shows than someone who just wants to go to a show.

It's equal in that you get one attempt per membership. And each person is only allowed one membership. I won't fault a couple who pays $20 or $40 each because they are both paying members.

I see no issue buddying up either. I did that in 2013. I ended up with 2 10C tix and I paid for 2 10C tix. Also, I met some awesome people doing this. What's up @Bathgate66 and @ldent42?

what do you mean 'never had the chance'? Previously, everybody had an equal chance at winning the lottery for rows 1-2 and 9-10. A ticket buddy of mine told me she had a really high number, so her tickets were probably not going to be great. She won first row for one of the shows.

Right now you're going to have what the band complained about previously...the same faces up front, on the rail. Pretty much it seems everybody has turned into the GA police. During intermission, god forbid if you have to pee...good luck on getting your spot back unless you buddy up with everybody around you.

Nothing will ever please everybody.

What's to fix? These people are all paying for their tickets. They were savvy in increasing their chances to win and/or finding a seller.

I mentioned an easy fix.

Everyone in the same pool of GA/Reserved. Everyone from member 1 to 600xxx has an equal shot at GA. You have the option to opt out of GA when you purchase.

That way anyone shirking the system trying for many GA entries will 'risk' getting 'stuck' with 'extra' 600xxx tickets that they cant easily trade off for others' 'extra' GA pairs.

Everyone has an equal shot at GA or reserved. That would also ensure a somewhat equal distribution of member #s in GA.



If they really want to do away with all the line nonsense and contraversy, dont reveal GA/ticket location until the tickets are picked up. That would also completely quash the 'market' for GA tickets.

Like I said rows 1-2 didn't feel like enough to me. You absolutely will not have the same faces up front every show. Winning GA is hard. Waiting on line all day is hard.

I'd be fine with that but it makes the 10C's job much more difficult so I don't blame them for not doing that.

What's to fix? These people are all paying for their tickets. They were savvy in increasing their chances to win and/or finding a seller.

Nothing wrong with it in most cases, but savvy quickly turns to greedy when people sign up their children or spouses who care nothing about Pearl Jam to be able to buy multiple limited items, or get extra tickets to trade for other shows.

This is what I meant to say! I really like this approach. It would bring back a bit ofthe "I just want to be in the building" feeling. Whoever still wants to trade their tickets, can do so at the ticket office with fellow members.
