I hear you, but then again we didn't get any tour announcement 3 months ago, and it goes back to the old argument from 100 pages ago in this thread.....people are too keen to shoot their mouths off with confidential information that creates this kind of messBrisk. said:
Yeah agreed but they just owe us decent service like the big business they are. Feels like the whole fan club is run by interns at times. All these tweets and reminders to keep stuff up to do are lame. Just be specific or just don't say anything at all. I don't follow any other bands like I do PJ but I wonder what it's like with their fanbase and how tour dates get announced. Do they have to play this constant game over rumored tour dates? etc. I know we bring it on ourselves and we could sit tight but we got a tour announcement what 3 months ago. Why they can't just say "oh we were going to announce some tour dates but due to unforeseen circumstances (I don't care the reason) we will announce in January 2016 or something.pdalowsky said:
I think the message there was the band foist owe us a heads up on a tour they cannot announce yet for probably comtractual reasons.primussucks said:
I disagree. Without their fans they don't have a career. We pay their salaries. If a band member or management came out and said that then I'd be done as a fan.buck502000 said:The band owes us nothing
Telling folk there will be a tour announced next week really doesn't help much. I don't believe they have ever said 'we're announcing dates on this date'.....in the past there has been the odd little birdie singing, and then bang the dates are announced. I dont think the band owes us anything either in the sense of advance information by way of a gentle nudge......the dates will come when they are good and ready, like they always have.0 -
Actually... the 10c are the ones putting reminders in newsletters and tweets 3 months ago, getting every one excited... and other people's contacts providing info, philly & nyc were rumored before "the leak"... and then seating charts... and then Lexington...pdalowsky said:

So I think we can stop berating fans that were just trying to be nice & helpful to other fans0 -
Who decides who is cool enough to get access to "confidential" tour dates anyway? Are there fans that are better than others? More deserving of the info?
I hate that elitist Betterfan shit, it's a long time plague in the pearl jam fan world, and it's obnoxious and annoyingPost edited by my2hands on0 -

Roo seems a little weak this year... but I do love seeing the dead on the calendar with PJ0

Macklemore is spelled wrong. Seems legit though.

There is no better fan, that's a ridiculous suggestion. Its a way of the world that some folk will have contacts whom have the inside line and they may offer tidbits out of some form a friendship. That is normally born out of some form of mutual respect. To throw that all over the internet and abuse that trust doesn't sit right, especially when it creates the kind of thread we have here. People have been upset that the dates haven't been announced, people are frustrated with the delays.....when in real terms there isn't a delay. Something isn't ready.my2hands said:Who decides who is cool enough to get access to "confidential" tour dates anyway? Are there fans that are better than others? More deserving of the info?

Personally I have enjoyed the build up, and the back and forth and the excitement is very much alive but I do know for some they have become completely disenchanted by it all.
There is no elitism involved there, absolutely none and no one is more deserving of information than anyone else. But no one is entitled to information that is confidential and not ready for general release yet.
getting the rumours coming from radio Djs (folk generally who may be in the know due to their position and not more entitled than the every day fan for example), seeing seating charts arrive online, seeing venues put the date up on their electronic boards as 'coming soon', venue staff giving out information from schedules - that is all part of the fun here. Personally I cant wait to see how the list of dates looks when it arrives.0 -
I want band to create music for themselves, not me. They owe me nothing. And I got hell of a lot more from them than they have from me.primussucks said:

(Who also turned out to be a HUGE PJ fan...
he saw them here in Columbus at Veteran's Memorial in '91)
told me that they were in negotiations with PJ for a show at one of their venues!!
You could tell he was excited to meet another fan!!
I had never met this gentleman before,
I didn't ask for the information...
he just offered it up to me,
and everyone else in the elevator!!
He also said they were trying to get U2 for a show at The Shoe.
Sorry if that makes you feel like I am an entitled fan for sharing this information!!'96: Seattle: Key Arena
