I can get off with a drop of a hat and don't have kids so I'm pretty flexible, but still it can be a little tight... I'm mostly speaking for others that a little more time could help a lot...Wma31394 said:
I don't really care since I don't travel too far anymore..but your spot on right.my2hands said:
obviously... but "local" fans is not why they sell out shows and have become the iconic band that they are... it is us crazy folks that drive and fly all over to see multiple shows that is their bread and butter... would be nice to see them provide the diehards with a little more time to plan, that is all...pjsteelerfan said:
I'm sure they realize that. I'm also sure they realize the vast majority of people at shows are considered "local".my2hands said:one day they will realize they have a fairly large traveling fan base, and will give that fan base plenty of time to plan for shows...
one day
i've been to 40+ shows... only 14 of them were "local"
I remember driving between shows in Canada in 2005, any rest stop you pulled into was completely taken over by Pearl Jam fans road tripping to the next city/show0 -
Looks like that is NYC the weekend before 'Roo?dtr0624 said:One of the big rumors lately is Gov Ball and they put put a tweet saying lineup drop is this friday!! fingers crossed
The only way I can see that happening is if they scrap the MSG shows in early May, which is possible if they end up scrapping that whole tour (or pushing the majority of the dates in to June).

I've been to 23 shows... 3 were local. I am sure most of the crowd is local, we all think there are a ton of fans from all over but it's probably less than half realistically. Except for crazy things like Wrigley... everyone I met was from somewhere different, including foreign countries.my2hands said:

What's the definition of local here?0

I completely understand the huge majority of shows is attended by locals, i have no illusion that everyone there is a traveler... BUT, if 10% of every venue isn't local, which is probably fair, that's a massive number that 99% of bands just don't have... and that is nice to bank on if I'm pearl jam... so I would try to help them out a little more, that's allHigh Fidelity 2000 said:

Why would fans not want more of a heads up? I don't understand why any fan would argue differently?
When I went to the Gorge in 2005 I purposely met people and asked where they were from... not one single person was from WashingtonPost edited by my2hands on0 -

If they do not announce something next week, I would highly doubt there would be any March/April Shows. If I remember correctly, the Fall '14 US Tour began in October, but was announced in May, giving fans 6 months to plan travel. Just doesnt seem realistic to me for PJ to announce April shows in mid January. Although it would be awesome and I am sure most of us could make the travel happen.2014: Moline, IL

This was taken from arcadefiretube Twitter account: Word going around is Governors Ball, NYC, tried to convince Arcade Fire to sign on for an exclusive one-off at their festival. Unsuccessful.SVRDhand13 said:

I know they gave that heads- up way back in October. Do you really think they would announce anything without another type of warning/countdown/tweet? I'm sorry, but I don't consider the newsletter update 3 months ago to be a fair warning for now. That would be like me telling my students "there will be a fire drill soon so prepare", and it not happening for 3 months. They would be clueless.0

uh the site crashed a few times for me better get your credit cards ready an announcement is coming!!0
