The new Hilton being built is already booked for the RNC and there's not even glass on the Windows yet

I have two younger daughters so I get to listen to their music alot and GOulding pops up on there.

I like her...I've seen her perform live on TV a few times and she's the real deal. Her song "Lights" is awesome.

NHL playoffs in full swing, every city listed has an NHL team. BOGUS.

what about the 2010 tour ? quite a few of nhl cities during playoff times. arenas dont keep 2 months open on the off chance their team makes it to the playoffs. it definitely comes into consideration however it doesnt mean they cant have an event during a playoff period..

The playoff schedule is not made until the playoff teams are set, which is usually during the final days of the regular season. Concerts are scheduled in advance of that. If need be, the venue will cancel a concert, but they can usually work it out.

So are you saying that hockey and basketball arenas don't take firm bookings for the months of April - June on more than a month or two notice? You seem 100% certain so I'm just wondering. Hypothetically if this tour does turn out to be true, how would that have been the case?

The 2010 tour was announced in March. Negotiated before that. These same arenas didn't know their NBA/NHL schedules then either.

Bingo. As noted recently in this thread, Amalie Arena booked a date for Ellie Goulding during the potential NHL playoffs. They also booked several disney on ice shows as well.

Yeah, I can't imagine an arena telling a band or other form of entertainment "Well, we can't hold that date because our team might be in the playoffs then, even though there are still 70 games to go in the season."
