I also remember reading something on here that someone reposted it was an interview with an industry insider and he more all less said pearl jam would be inducted on their first attempt

Yep..at the same interview he explain why pj will be at the event at 2017.and not at 2016...i think its april 2017..

I was just about to write this but you beat me to it. I'm pretty sure in Nirvana's case they counted from the release of their first single. Love Buzz was released in late 1988.

OK who's going to start betting money on this? I had originally thought it was 25 years from the album release year, to GET NOMINATED, which is about 6 months before the actual induction... but after reading that official RRHOF quote someone put up above, I think they will "make the class" here in a few weeks and then be part of the ceremony in April. I'm now in the 2016 camp. And they WILL definitely get in first year of eligibility. Eddie has been a Hall of Fame pal since the Doors thing in 92 (?). I still think it's ludicrous that Green Day made it immediately (and yes, while Rush had to wait almost 40 years). If they make it, PJ will make it. You'll see. I'm going to call it now and say Foo Fighters will make it in 2020, too... Wenner loves Grohl obviously, he's gonna put him in twice right away.
