    What really pisses me off about all of this (and no, it's not the hair; keep your goddamn hair, Davis) is that any of us - most of us - would've been fired from the get-go for pulling this shit.

    Who hasn't had internal conflicts on the job? Most rational people would either suck it up / get over it and do what they're being paid for, or said "sorry, my *good conscience* doesn't allow me to do what I was elected to do and what I'm well-paid for".

    Heres the question I have , is it within the scope of her job description and authority set forth by the county and state to make such a change on her own wothout county and/or state approval?

    Removal of the county of record from a legal document?

    I think , with her approval , her attorneys are pushing for a test case by advising her to take these actions. They want to see how far the can go under states RFRA laws.

    I think there are clerks and even judges waiting to press forward in this way but somebody needed to be first.

    I know, but like I was asking, can she be fired ? there are several other cases that were fought and won (I think) due to religious beliefs, everybody has a point if some believe/agree with it or not so I'm just curious if she can be legally forced to license a gay marriage or not due to here religious beliefs ? public opinion means little when it comes to binding legal issues especially if not a safety or security issue.

    If a judge issues a legal order based on the constitution and scotus opinion and you refuse , you are in contempt. Period. That can lead to indefinite jail time and/or a fine.
    Length of time is entirely on that individual .

    She is NOT exercising religious freedom AT ALL, she is imposing religious doctrine on others, in VIOLATION of the Constitution.

    If one supports her, they must support Sharia law as well, or they show themself to be a hypocrite, bigot, fool, you name it.

    Lol I wasn't threatening to punch you Godfather, it's just a saying I heard once that is pretty accurate when it comes to freedom of religion, any freedom really.

    She was arrested for contempt of court...legally or not, it's a pretty complicated question and controversial.
    She should resign if it means so much to her, but instead she is forcing her hangups on other people.
    I am not concerned about her hang ups or gay rights really, I'm really just curious about the legality's and how their played out, and thank you for clarifying.....my nose has been broken once already LOL !!

    If a judge issues a legal order based on the constitution and scotus opinion and you refuse , you are in contempt. Period. That can lead to indefinite jail time and/or a fine.
    Length of time is entirely on that individual .
