And I agree there's much to be said for simplicity (pizza guy, plumber, what have you), even if not on the porn-front.

Honestly, I don't know how parents (steps included) get through this time with their children, IN this time. It's heartening to see how much thought and effort are put into the process by many here.

I think my kids are growing up in the perfect time: sex IS everywhere, but we are in a time where there is very good anti-sexualizing and pro-body shape and pro-woman empowerment movements going on. Free the nipple, for instance. Allowing for people of all orientations and shapes and sizes to be able to express themselves in a way that counters the back room nonsense of yesteryear. Does it bother me when I see my 9 year old dancing in the mirror while listening to Britney? A bit, yeah, but my sister did that too, and she is as prudish as they come.

Its funny, as I walk past a Victoria Secret store in the mall, and see the 6' tall blonde model poster in the window, and to me I find that fashion hasn't caught up with the sexy trends of today. They seem outdated to me. Its not 1985 anymore.

Yeah, some guys have fantasies about doing their girlfriend and/or her mom, but fantasy is just that: a dream that is ideal in that setting, and weird in reality. Not a parent, but I don't think this is what is happening. I would think it almost goes the opposite way. If there is too much stimulation around, relationships and physical togetherness are probably seen as the "forbidden fruit", and thus, more intriguing than pure sex.

And damn, have some trust in the parents. Love, tolerance, open communication and honesty go a long way to prepare a human being for life.
