I'll always remember a discussion I overheard between my parents regarding my sister- who was in grade 12 and 17- and her boyfriend who stayed the night on occasion.

My father was staunchly opposed to the idea of it and was about to assert his parental rights, but my mother stood up to him. She said (a little more colorfully), "There going to do it. I would much rather her in the comfort of her own bed than the back of a car."

What's wrong with the morning after pill? Emergency contraception is just slightly higher concentration of birth control medicines which PREVENT fertilization of an egg.

The rosy past of sexual purity that you imagine never existed. The teen pregnancy rate is now half of what it was in the 1950s. Sure, some of those pregnancies in the '50s occurred in couples that were already married, but a whole lot occurred in girls who either got married shortly after or mysteriously went away to stay with an aunt for a few months.

And sex between family members, even siblings, has occurred since time immemorial. Many cultures have practiced it, from the Egyptians to the Romans to the British to those in the backwoods of the USA, either for dynastic reasons or simply due to lack of available alternatives. I'd say the rates are probably less now than in the past, but I don't have evidence for that and am not that interested in looking it up.

Trying to ignore the fact that most humans naturally have a sex drive has never worked out well. Countries that recognize this and give our children and teens correct information and support have the healthiest populations.

I think that is an assumption on your part that is way off base. My cousin is younger, from the first generation of sext messagers... He has had sex with many girls, and it has had zero effect on his capacity to love. In fact, now that he has found the woman he is going to spend his life with, he appreciates her even more because of the depth of love which he hadn't shared with anyone prior.
Sex without love can be damaging, but so can anything pleasurable, from alcohol and pot to sugar and sex. It is a mistake for you to think that sex without deep, abiding love is damaging, or wrong.
It may have been in your experience, I don't know, but it isn't so for everyone.
In fact, given what little I know of your history of love, I would ask you to consider if you might have been damaged less in life had you engaged with men in a more physical way, and less spiritual.
It is worth thinking about, I know that nobody on this Earth could hurt me more than the love of my life. Love is a great risk, and if people are hesitant to take that risk, I think they should still have the pleasure of sex!

For the record, the morning after pill isn't exclusively used as a drug store fix to a night without birth control. I will tell you that when I was pregnant with our first daughter, she passed away. The morning after pill was one of the three remedies that they used to induce labor. At that point Bailey was no longer alive, but very much 22 weeks of development. Baby girl needed to come out, as I was in the throes of severe preeclampsia (it very nearly killed me) and it was too much of a risk for me to go in for a c-section. I wouldn't have made it through the procedure. For a week, it was questionable that I would make it at all. (My blood pressure was heinously high. So high that intensive care had to come to me. I was too bad to even move to that section of the hospital. I had to have a central line placed in without anything to numb the site as they didn't even have time for that. I might add, it hurt like hell.)

I say this not to solicit sympathy, but because I don't want you to write such a remedy off thinking that it is only something used by teenagers after an unplanned night of sexual activity. There is true medical worth with the morning after pill. It is a good reason of why I'm still here today.

Hedo, I hope it didn't come across as if I was in favour of incest; I was just hoping to point out that it's something that has been around since the dawn of time and very likely is less prevalent and less acceptable now. I would assume that the porn sites that Ani was referring to aren't actually showing incestual sex; it's all about the marketing. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
