The Sept. 26 event that stars Beyonce, Pearl Jam and Coldplay is a highlight of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon will be there, along with several prime ministers and CEOs.
This is the first time I have noticed Beyonce listed before Pj. I wonder if Beyonce has moved into the closing spot?

I wouldn't read too much into it. They didn't even mention Ed Sheeran, who it seems will be going on before Coldplay (Chris Martin noted in a video Coldplay will only be doing a few songs/short set, so they are probably first).

Just about every commercial I've seen on MSNBC who is hosting and televising the event, has Beyonce mentioned first, then PJ. I first noticed it like 2 months ago when they first started promoting it.
The global citizen festival website however, has PJ listed first:
I think PJ will play last and get the closing spot but that's just an assumption..

You're right, you should just skip it. It's gonna suck and be boring and all about politics. Don't go.

Yeah, you are right. Guess you can have my VIP ticket. Or not. Never said it was going to suck. PJ live never sucks. PJ live outdoors in central park most certainly wont suck. Just saying, this feels more like a rally than a music fest.
What will most of you do if Beyonce is the closer will most of you leave, i'm not attending so i really don't care who closes it ...
Enjoy her show! I've seen her perform before, and she's incredible. Though I do hope PJ closes, excited to see her again.

Fair enough maybe it does feel like a rally but maybe we should have expected that considering it's not the first year and how it's been billed this way:
"The Festival is timed to coincide with the launch of the United Nations’ new Global Goals designed to fight inequality, protect our planet and end extreme poverty by 2030. The Global Citizen Festival will channel the power of hundreds of thousands of global citizens lending their voices to achieve policy and financial commitments that will shape the success of these Goals."
Sounds like it may be a bit political yes, but not unexpected. I don't think anyone should expect a typical Lollapalooza type fesitval.

I'm going and planning on staying from beginning to end. Doesn't matter who opens and who closes. I've accepted that it's not just a Pearl Jam concert and I just wanna have a good time and try not to worry about the minor details. This isn't exactly how I wanted to see PJ this year but since I'm not traveling to Mexico/South America, this is how it is. Fortunately I love NYC and NY is a neighboring state.

If Beyoncé is the closer of the show I plan to leave the show early go to a bar with a touch tunes machine pump in a 20 and play all pj and pretend I'm still at the show. Problem solved. All are welcome to join !

My wife loves Beyonce so I am there. If I were not there with my wife I would leave. I am obviously excited to see Pearl Jam and the hook for them closing to me is the prospect that they may play a little longer if they do. I know it is not going to be a super long set....but want every song we can get!

My source tells me PJ will play last and the schedule has them playing 1:40 minutes. Pretty confident in this info.
Who is your source? You don't have to post it here just PM me I won't tell anyone.

I hope this is the case as well. Beyonce was in the audience during PJ's set at Made In America and maybe gets how much we love / how crazy we are about them
