Saw a lot of firsts in Jersey (Leatherman, Footsteps, Leash, Why Go and others),

but after 9 shows I still haven't seen Release.

  • man i feel so lucky...ive seen 11 shows and have heard it all...

the only ones left on my wishlist are:

    sad
    crown of thorns
  • wow! I thought I had it bad when I had to wait till my 12th show to see Long Road for the first time.
I remember bawling my eyes out when they played it in Uniondale on the 03 tour cause I had Buffalo tix 2 night later.
I ended up getting it in Montreal and cried like a baby lol.

I've seen it a few times since.

Took me 26 shows to finally get Hard to Imagine and Around the Bend.

    Dammit tho...Oceans still alludes me.

I'd also LOVE to see Leash, Alone, I'm Open, Who You Are, and Black, Red, Yellow.

When I started this post, I guess out of self pity, it never really occurred to me that so many of us love their music, but all have had their share of "wishlists" never played. I find it really a tribute to the band that so many of us want not only to hear them play, but that they have played so many differnt shows and kept it so diverse throughout all of them. Even more that they have written so many good songs and we all like them for different and personal reasons.

I was amazed at the amounts of releases and state of love an trusts, songs I have heard many times...I guess we all have our songs, but we should feel fortunate for what we are hearing versus what we are not. Yeah that is kind of hokey, but it is true.

sob sob sniff sniff, gee wilikers Pearl Jam sure is swell!

Still want Hard to Imagine though ;-) MILWAUKEE please........pretty please!

Oh yeah others I am dying to hear for the first time:
    Sad
like everyone else Brother (with vocals)
    Dirty Frank
    Fatal
    Hunger Strike
    Angel/by your side
    I am a Patriot
    I Got You
    Throw Your Arms Around Me
    Who You Are

    long road

but i think i will hear it live this year..

if no where else, the gorge.

0 shows this year and 7 to go..

and i would love to hear them play harvest gold one more time.. i think it will happen.. :)
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

You mean Harvest MOON?? That would be great. Although dunno if they would do it without SK doing the oooh part.

  • I've been to 14 shows over 12 years (drop in the bucket compared to some) and there's really only one song I've never heard live that I just ache to hear... RELEASE! ;)
I've just been unlucky a few times, I missed 1 New York show one year and they played it! :( I go to all 4 Jersey shows this tour & they play it in DC in between! :(

Well, I got one more show to go, July 23rd @ the Gorge, fingers crossed! :p
Please Eddie, play it for me :)

I'd love to hear Breath again too, only once so far
Oh, if I knew where it was, I would take you there, but there's much more than this.
Ooooh. Whoooa, much more than this. Woooh see the world. Much more than... Oooh, much more than.. Why?

Me too. I was at Montreal 05, he sang at Ottawa. I went to Boston I & II he sings at Camden I. I miss it by one night!

I have seen damn near every PJ original song they play live. I've been to their longest show ever (state college), went to the "accoustic experiment" in Boston, heard both trilogies, was there when they brought back leash and introduced parachutes, heard "ive got a feeling" and "crown of thorns". I've heard "mankind" and "wash" every time it has been played for 6 years.... But the only song that really keeps eluding me is Oceans.

However, it seems like a bunch of you are craving Oceans and that was the first song I ever saw live...so I guess I can't really complain.

  • I can honestly say there's not a song that has elluded me. They all rock and I have been fortunate to hear some of the "hard to come by" ones. I would like to hear Hunger Strike. I am hoping for Big Wave in Cincy. Here's to Pearl Jam and the one song that elludes us all.

Anyone out there also cursed in waiting for that one song they really want to hear, only to get denied tour after tour?

I have been wainting patiently for Hard To Imagine for 12 years now and have been denied time after time.....

missed it by a night in 94 when they played it at the New Regal show, but not Chicago Stadium.

totally let down by missing it by a show again this year from Chicago 1/2 then being played at grand freaking rapids! I have not marked out and done the hat, painted my face, made signs, used a beach ball etc, will fate ever shine on my ears?

    Who else feels the pain???

    two more chances in Milwaukee

What is it for all of you, the one song you have to hear live but constantly get denied? Who You Are already has a vote from Chris D.

Yes, I feel the pain! Mine is now Hard to imagine ... and my story reads as yours. Missed it at the Regal Show and Grand Rapids!!!

I know I will hear it one day though! I waited ten years for Breath and finally heard it at Alpine 03'. That was so amazing. As were Foootsteps, Crown of Thorns, Low Light and I'm Open at the recent Chicago Shows!!!

So I'm with ya on Hard to Imagine, plus U and Out Of My Mind! One day!!!

For those who are aching for Release I really do hope you get to experience a show opening with this! Just the thought of it sends chills up my spine! Release ... how i wish for you today!

I'm sure they're are a few songs that I have yet to hear live.
But for me, I have yet to hear Breath & Crown of Thorns.
State was on that list until very receintly.
    Wait.......Tremor Christ & Leash too.
I could think all day..... & it still wouldn't be enough time to make a good list.
Off the new album.... I did get to hear my favourite song...
    Inside Job.
If you haven't had the pleasure of hearing it live..... man oh man!
Man..... I wish I could put a Pearl Jam pic in here as my siggie!!!! LMFAO!!

Smile. I've been to 17 shows thus far and have yet to hear it. I have 1 more show this tour so I'm hoping they do it.
  • Been to 21 shows. 1 in 2000, 9 in 2003, 5 in 2004, 1 in 2005, and 5 in 2006. Here's what I need:

Big Wave, Pilate, No Way, WMA (Full), Oceans, Who You Are, I'm Open
Push Me Pull Me, Arc, All Night, Hitchhiker, Education, Fatal, Black Red Yellow, Undone, Hold On, Other Side, Dirty Frank

There are a few I've only gotten once that I'd have liked to hear more often (Dissident, Deep, Sonic Reducer etc..)

    'Wash' as an opener.

  • I can't believe that after 14 shows I'm still missing Baba O'Riley. As for Pearl Jam originals, the most commonly played songs that I'm missing are:

Wash, You Are, Alone, Hard to Imagine, Satan's Bed, plus some of the really rare ones (i.e. played less than 10 times)

But, the song that tops my wishlist is No Way.
    4/10/94 (Boston), 10/2/96 (Hartford), 8/22/98 (Toronto), 9/13/98 (Hartford), 9/15/98 (Mansfield), 9/16/98 (Mansfield), 8/29/00 (Mansfield), 8/30/00 (Mansfield), 7/2/03 (Mansfield), 7/11/03 (Mansfield), 9/28/04 (Boston), 5/13/06 (Hartford), 5/24/06 (Boston), 5/25/06 (Boston)

I knocked quite a few off with this past leg.... Smile, Garden, Rats, Leash, Why Go, Footsteps, Satan's Bed....
I already had Oceans, Indifference, Crown of Thorns, Sad, Hard to Imagine, Wash, Alone, Arc, Bushleaguer and stuff like that

So, I guess now it would have to be the full song of WMA or Tremor Christ...and I wanted to hear Big Wave badly to finish off the new album...
