Digging this one - very cool vibe. I like how the singers words fall into place amongst all the guitars.
Thanks, Honestly the stuff Shelley and Greg put on these songs is just amazing. They take my boring predictable Rhythm tracks and transform them into just amazing pieces of music.

I really like this piece, Greg. I could totally envision hearing this in the soundtrack of some movie or tv show.
Thank you. That's kind of where my head is at now. Just little things that aren't really songs but could be little score bits or whatever. Proper songs elude me.

I hear ya. I've tried to flesh ideas out like I used to, but it gets harder and harder. Especially finding time to focus. It can take a couple hours (of complete silence) to write a song, and the wife and kids don't seem to get that part.
I think if I could get some drum tracks to work with, I could really get something going. Been looking for a used electronic drum set I could mess with. Funds, however, are limited.
Regardless, glad to hear stuff from you still. I still think of your cover of "Don't Dream It's Over" every once in a while, solid stuff.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
Found this one on my laptop from a few years back. I laid this down in about an hour and was a little tipsy after a few gin and tonics. Did any of you know that drinking causes you to become slightly tone deaf? Haha! You can hear my dog barking in the background during the opening 30 seconds or so. All done at home, all live instruments through Garageband, all by me. I'm not a singer as you can tell, but fuck it, it doesn't bother me any.
The third song of this project. I had to go out of town so we either changed the rules for this one, or we don't have a song this time. So Shelley and I decided to record a song her and I wrote years ago for a old acoustic project.

Very cool - has that swing-y 'Thin Air' start there. Love it!
Yea I hear what your saying there. The slow getting moving opening strumming in a way. Thanks a bunch

from the "Christmas album" I made a few years back
"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young
So i just finished this little 5-song thing. It's sort of all over the place. All done by myself with Apple Logic. Seems only the first track shows up here. Oh well. The rest at https://soundcloud.com/greg-snell
Really like this stuff too, Ex. "A Conversation" sounds so much like a George Harrison-penned Beatles tune, it hurts. I keep wanting to sit down and write some lyrics. The structure is there. I'm also hearing shades of Led Zeppelin, Mother Love Bone, and just tons of great lines. The drum programming is great, must have taken a bit to get some of that together. I keep wanting to pick up an electronic kit so I can do my own "full band" recordings.

Thank you. It was a lot of fun to make. The drums are actually the drummer module within Apple Logic. It's pretty amazing and easy to get something to work with. You can then edit from there. It's very powerful.

You two should collaborate! What a cool instrumental!
Here is the fourth song of the series by A Ghostwriter's Apology. Recorded 12/26/15 (ish) https://youtu.be/cIoZiEfhEoY

Whenever possible, I mix my own projects and recordings (mixing is my favorite), so I try to get outside ears on the mastering process. I really like these guys:
I worked on one particular project years ago, a really long album process that took a lot out of me, and the mastering that the band chose was not my preference. It still bothers me to listen to that album a little. Find a mastering engineer you like, and they're worth their weight in gold.
I was able to contact Blake in early December, but since then his website is down, and I'm getting rejected e-mails. Bummer.
ATY, your ghostwriter songs are like Mazzy Star and Sonic Youth's love child. Good stuff!
Thanks for taking the time to listen and commenting... Another one this week.... I just need a night to edit the video.

That's beyond something. That is a really great song right there...

I know it isn't an original but this is the recording I'm most proud of I think.
You thinking of doing this for your Yield project?
