Here's an encouraging news story just released regarding the Nepal disaster:
"Rescuers have pulled a 101-year-old man alive from his ruined home a week after Nepal's earthquake claimed at least 7,200 lives, as the government warned Sunday the death toll will climb "much higher".
Funchu Tamang was rescued on Saturday from the rubble of his house with only minor injuries to his ankle and hand, after the quake ripped through the impoverished country on April 25."
Helps illustrate the URGENCY for all of us to PLEASE donate and help NOW!
    Thank you.

Sure is a small world, isn't it badbrains?
Fortunately for L.A., there are no reported injuries, deaths or damage.
Really helps put things in perspective, doesn't it?
    Thanks for the bump!

I was in Chatsworth during the 94 Northridge quake and was amazed by the destruction. Nepal needs help because it's like nothing I have ever seen.

    Please donate!

It's a small world again, tempo_n_groove - I lived nearby in North Hollywood in '94 as well.
And that WAS a big quake!
I'll never forget it - sounded and shook like a freight train was trying to get through my bedroom wall!
But as you point out - it was nothing compared to what hit Nepal one week ago.
    Thank you for your help!

Here is some fresh good news!:
"Troops and emergency aircraft from the United States have arrived in Nepal to help deliver aid to remote areas hit by last week's devastating earthquake.

Relief efforts near the epicentre have been hampered by a lack of aircraft.

About 100 US marines, two helicopters and four Ospreys capable of vertical take-off are now in Kathmandu."

A hearty and sincere "Thank You!" to our men and women in uniform.
