Yup, the world’s 1.8 billion Muslims are giving up on the Palestinians, so afraid of Iran they are. Everybody’s just moving on, forgetting all about those oppressed, occupied Palestinians.
Also from the New York Times:
“Yet, despite the dire predictions of major turmoil, and the best efforts of both Fatah and Hamas to mobilize the masses, so far there has been no large-scale, spontaneous outburst of violence in the wake of the president’s declaration.
The response has been more of a part-time simulation of an uprising, almost by appointment. A few thousand protesters have turned out at familiar friction points in the West Bank or along the Gaza border on the designated “Days of Rage” called for by the political factions. Other days, hardly anybody has shown up.
“It’s not that people don’t want to stand up for their rights,” said Samar Salah, 25, a Muslim student from a nearby village who had come to Bethlehem with her friends to see the Christmas decorations. “But there are never any results.”
Many Palestinians now view the confrontations with Israeli soldiers as pointless since they consider the Jerusalem declaration unlikely to be reversed. Those lucky enough to have decent jobs do not want to jeopardize their livelihoods. Others struggling to make ends meet seem to have more immediate concerns than throwing stones at Israeli soldiers.”

If you consider pressuring a 21 year old one hit wonder into silence is a BDS victory then the movement is deader then you realize. But go on ...and to paraphrase the young lady...I’ll let you live that fantasy.

Yea, sure Professor, I’m the only one “triggered.” You apparently are firmly in the minority. Who’s interests do you represent? Certainly not Canada’s nor US Jews. You’re one of those second comers fanatics, aren’t you?
Quoting Lorde lyrics. LOL. Bring your sign to Prague. I’ll look for the “Please Play Israel” on the front and “Don’t Be Lorde” on the back sign. Hold it high, Professor, hold it high.

The only interests I represent are those that are in the right. How Canadian/American Jews/Evangelicals feel about the matter are irrelevant too me. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Traditionally that is where embassies go.

That’s funny, most of the world disagrees with your interpretation of “right.” Keep spinning and say it enough times to yourself to make it true. An apartheid state denier.

I quoted the Lorde lyrics because it was quite clear that you had trouble with all the Pearl Jam lyrics the other week. There’s no shame in you being a fan of hers though. My Prague sign will say “Please cover Royals for Halifax!”

You’re slow on the draw but being the international powerhouse that they are, it lends vast legitimacy to your favorite apartheid state professor. And seeing that they have a history of right wing death squads, it’s not surprising. Oppressors unite.

Are you suggesting the article is a lie? It’s propaganda? It is interesting how you refuse to believe that the Arab Nations are far more concerned with Obama allowing Hezbollah to continue to deal drugs in order to fund terrorist activities on behalf of Iran then the US moving an embassy. Their priorities are not your priorities. The facts on the ground have changed. They changed a long time ago. Yet you stick to the old narrative. You continue to walk with the herd.

Wow, a neo-conservative trail blazer supporting a racist in chief for the ultimate apartheid state. So original of you. Let’s see where the Arab and Muslim world are in a few years as the Palestinians continue to be fucked by Bibi. Guatemala’s decision hardly washes israel’s Hands of war crimes.

Why don't you read what the guy says? How does stating what you believe to be factual (like BS) imply any kind of 'support'? The right way to refute facts is to add evidence to the contrary of the fact to disprove it. Your opinions and BS' previous statements on this thread are 100% compatible, yet you refuse to give any sort of addressing of the statements he's making, instead preferring to call him a racist or supporter of an apartheid regime.
That's a crappy way to debate, but hey, at least you'll end up going to bed feeling that you 'won', and isn't that what this place is all about?

You must be new to this place and not know what BS stands for? Hey, but if chiding other posters is your thing because you’re not a mod in real life, go at it.
As for “facts,” BS’s facts that the Middle East has been radically changed by the US decision to move it’s embassy to Jerusalem is BS. The U.N. vote condemning that is evidence or “facts.” Guatemala following the US’ announcement with their own is hardly a sea change in the long held view that Jerusalem should be a capital in a two state solution negotiated between the parties and not unilaterally decided. BS’ claim that the Arab world is going “Jew” because of Iran is still BS if only because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. In case you haven’t been paying attention, BS has made a lot of BS claims as it relates to Israel, starting with his claim that the British Mandate granted all of Palestine to Israel in 1948. When you support an apartheid regime, you’ll say anything to gain legitimacy and sound like you know what you’re talking about. Like Trump’s election was brilliant and will result in a wave of trump supporters sweeping into the house and senate cementing his hold on government and guareenteeing reelection or that Obama had his wires tapped. Relevance? Because BS posts it, doesn’t make it true. Meanwhile, I’ll wait for Pearl Jam to play Israel, the apartheid state.
Benjs ain’t new to this place and if I’m not mistaken I think he disagrees with me on most things “Israel”. The difference between he and you on this topic (most topics) however is that he actually reads what I write. Your long diatribe above quite clearly demonstrates that you don’t. Let’s start with your initial point as I do NOT believe “that the Middle East has been radically changed by the US decision to move it’s embassy to Jerusalem”. The only thing “radical” about that decision is that it destroyed the illusion that moving the embassy ever mattered. It didn’t matter...nobody reacted other then Erdogan...who other then Mike Flynn nobody cares about. Sure you got one more in a long list of meaningless U.N. resolutions out of it but who cares? Throw that one on the pile of anti-Semitic resolutions that come and go year after year without ever changing the facts on the ground. What changes facts on the ground are actions and the actions are leaning in Israel’s favour. The Arab world is moving in a “new” direction with respect to Israel because of Iran and this cannot be disputed. They are not happy with Iranian expansionism that you supported through Obama. They are not happy with Iran becoming a nuclear power which you have endorsed on previous threads. They now see Israel as an ally and will not let US decisions on embassies sidetrack their need for security. Add to that the response of other nations and it is quite obvious which way the wind is blowing. You may celebrate a 21 year old female from little New Zealand being bullied to stay out of Israel while downplaying a country larger then New Zealand’s decison to relocate it’s embassy but certainly Guatemala’s move is a far more significant event. While it is just the early days of this new normal as of today ten additional countries are planning on relocating their embassies and as other nations come to realize that there will be no blow back then they will move as well. Secondly your precious BDS is failing where it counts. Norway just joined Denmark and many other national, state, and local governments in legislating against doing business with BDS supporting groups. They recognize the movement for what it is...an anti-speech group that out of anti-semitism alone focuses it’s energy on one country over all other human rights abusers. A group of fascists that threatens easy targets on campuses and harasses young girls who wish to sing to their fans and then celebrate this meaningless silencing of speech as a success. The world is woke to your movement and is moving on.
Also...as I have said one thousand times...Trump will be judged on results. There is no guarantee of his re-election as he will have to thread the same needle a second time. That sentence seems so simple and yet you continue to get it wrong. Benjs shouldn’t have to help you.

Yes, I wasted 5 minutes of my time reading a link to a Sheldon adelson free newspaper propaganda piece that quotes unidentifiable sources and recited more Arab hand wringing rather than “facts.” Jordan is more concerned with losing their prestigious control of the holy sites under their control than what happens to the Palestinians. Color me shocked at the “facts.” Nice rhetoric using the term fascist, from a supporter of an apartheid regime no less. BS loves to present one side and only one side, the side that paints Israel in the most positive light possible, ignoring the “facts” on the ground. For the record BS, I didn’t ask Benjs for his help nor do I need it. Your neocon spin is just that, spin.
When did Iran become a nuclear power, Professor? See? More BS from BS. Bibi stated within a year or less of the Obama nuclear deal Iran would have nuclear weapons and Israel would have to act. Why haven’t they acted? And your comments regarding Trump are a sea change from your presentation just after the election. Spin, spin, spin.
And I thought the Arab world was moving in a “Jew” direction as posited a few posts above, by you Professor? More spin? “Jew” direction versus “new” direction. Which is it?

And seeing that they have a history of right wing death squads, it’s not surprising. Oppressors unite.

That's a crappy way to debate, but hey, at least you'll end up going to bed feeling that you 'won', and isn't that what this place is all about?

Also...as I have said one thousand times...Trump will be judged on results. There is no guarantee of his re-election as he will have to thread the same needle a second time. That sentence seems so simple and yet you continue to get it wrong. Benjs shouldn’t have to help you.
