I have no idea; I've never seen it. I feel so bereft of culture today

    Should I watch more tv?

Morning, SD! There's actually a Route 66 sign on the street where I work :)

That's it, Hedonist...I'm going out there for a visit. Tell Mr. Hedonist, and warn the cats--the couch is mine (but I'll share).

Yes, until I am no longer able to.

Have you ever read Tropic of Cancer?

SD, Beans'd be all over you, but don't expect anything from George. He gets scared when we boil fucking water.

I haven't read that book but have heard it was titillating in its time.

**ok, I had a question typed out and the site messed me up.

    Anyone else having issues here?
  • deadendpdeadendp Posts: 10,434
    Yup.

Can you please ask my question?

Give it to me and I shall!

Have you had a question all good to go, then thought it'd be a bit of a downer...maudlin but unintentional?
  • deadendpdeadendp Posts: 10,434
I've had questions that I've found to be too rambling and, well, you don't need any more of that from me than you already get.

Do you enjoy The Big Bang Theory?

No. I just don't get it but wish I did.

Are there some shows you feel the same way about?

    PS - for the Route 66'ers :)

Yes, there are some shows other people love that I don't feel either.

Yes. I live in the country now and it's gorgeous! In the evening, we see groups of deer and I almost can't believe we live in a place like this now. There's space, it's quiet, and it's green. Who knew it'd be this good?

Do you get into a rut when it comes to breakfast?

    Yes.

Do you get into a rut when it comes to dinner? :frowning:

Did you have something routine for dinner tonight?

Mmmm, routine-ish. Something that takes a while to make so only gets made on the weekend, but turns up not infrequently.

Do you have an e-book device?

  • NOPE! I despise reading off of a screen.

Are you a forever fan of the physical book?

Yes, and e-books as well. (ND, have you ever read a Kindle? It's very different than reading off a computer or tablet screen. Makes traveling easier, too, as I no longer have to take up half my suitcase with books).

Do you clean your wine glasses by hand rather than in the dish washer?

  • I haven't read a kindle, but it's more than just the screen it's the whole feel of it, I like holding the book. If i get the chance I will see if I can stand it.

I am the dishwasher so yes I clean my wine glasses by hand.

Do you like british tv shows over NA shows?

Oh, definitely. The only tv I watch is British game shows online. QI, Would I Lie To You, etc.

Do you read any non-North American news online (or, actually, in print)?

Frequently online. The guardian & bbc, the daily mail (yea yea I know but I'm a sucker for clickbait) and Stuff, and very occasionally al Jazeera. In print the only one I read was the Irish times if someone left it at the coffee shop, but those were pre gentrification days. Tv news however - my heart belongs to NY1. I don't even watch national news.

No-one else has answered, so I will, even though the answer is right up above  . Yes, I do on occasion; the ones listed, plus Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Do you feel a strong connection to any country other than the one you live in currently?

Probably Canada. (I don't say that because I'm answering to someone from Canada.)

Yes. Depending on the amount, I would share with quite a few people.

    Do you play the lottery?

No, thus making it less likely I will win it.

For those who play, do you think you've won more than you've spent over the years?

I don't play. I used to kick in a buck for the work pool every month or so. We never won. My FIL has been "winning" the lottery since my husband and I got together. We've been together for 21 1/2 years. They have never won big yet and certainly have not made their money back. Now they added going to the casinos.

Out here, it requires no preparation. But hell yes in terms of being mentally ready - it's my absolute favorite season, with winter close behind.

(and the weather you described sounds lovely)

Quick interruption: I will happily hang with Beans. George is a cat, and therefore aloof. I can respect that.

Beans is a cat too - though somewhat aloof at times, much more chill and sociable than her younger compadre :)
