Record Store Day Mystery Vinyl

Pearl Jam doesn't equal 10 club. I agree on everything else. Except we know better when it comes to mystery sales. We know it's 10c's way of clearing out inventory they can't sell. It doesn't make it less disappointing to get a dud for a vinyl, but it is the reason they do the mystery sales.Red Lukin said:I hate to complain, but again I'm disappointed by this band. I used to love everything the band did but now it's either just bad luck or they're taking advantage of us loyal fans.
In 2013 I line up in the cold for the Seattle pop up shop for 4 hours only get have the option to buy left over merch. Waste of time.
Now my wife and I each sign up for the mystery vinyl. Hers gets cancelled and I get Moonlander. It's not even PJ. And The Fixer 7", which is possibly the worst PJ song every made.
Looks like Canada got all the crap.
I agree on the seattle pop up. That was tough. I showed up a few hours early (in the freezing cold) and it took a few hours to go in. When I got there I was maybe 50 people back, but the lineup ballooned out of control. The decent stuff was gone, and a lot of people who waited for hours behind me never got in. It seemed underprepared for the amount of people that showed up (which is weird because what else would you expect the day after a PJ show in seattle when all the diehards are in town?)

I was probably right near you in that line - by the time I got in, the last of the Benaroya Halls were sold (literally about 10 people or so in front of me) as well as the rest of the desired vinyl and other merch. I was lucky to get a backpack, some stickers and a mystery box (which kinda sucked).Zod said:I agree on the seattle pop up. That was tough. Zod, I just went to edit my post, but too late since you quoted it. : ) I was so excited when I came to work and see a package from the TC. I'm usually excited and have never been disappointed after cracking open a package from the TC, but to receive a non-PJ vinyl after paying like $90 after shipping isn't a good feeling. Whatever though, as people go to the casino and walk away with nothing.
I was like 20-25th in line at the pop up shop. I saw a stack of Benny's but didn't want one considering the price. As everything else was being sold the only thing left at the pop up shop were Benny's, so I was going to get one to walk away with something good. 2 people in front of me grabbed the last one, as most people were grabbing 2 when everything else disappeared.
The poster package was cool though, but I expected the option to buy more. Unfortunately people in the front were able to buy one of everything, which left people 15+ back the option to basically buy left over merch or something they already had, like a backspacer LP0 -
What colour was your Fixer?0

Ditto! I love the box sets and hope they continue. It will feel incomplete if they stop after the first two. And you know how we completists are!!pdalowsky said:
absolutely love the super deluxe sets......I really hope one day to have a full set of those beauties on a shelf.Dead Man Walking said:I think they did a great job offering the different tiers (Individual CD's/CD combos/individual vinyl/box of everything)
I really hope they continue to offer the Super-Deluxe packages. Albums this good deserve to be celebrated and receive special treatment 20 years after they were released. The artifacts are a great addition, too. I'm a sucker for physical media though. I love the box sets.
no complaints at all, long may they continue
Speaking of incomplete - I hope we get Vaults 1 & 2 on vinyl someday as well! Maybe as a 4-disc combo since Vault 1 is rather short.

I pay $40 a year to be a member of their club and I wake up this morning to find that Mike hadn't walked and fed my dog. Stone hadn't made me breakfast. Jeff hadn't done my laundry. Matt hadn't washed and detailed my car. Boom didn't mow my lawn. And Eddie hadn't done my grocery shopping.

I had boom trim my pubes the other day though. I was all like "grooooooooooooom" while he was doing it.Bentleyspop said:

That's good then - you may not have got a song you like, but you got something VERY rare and there are others out there that will bite your arm off for it (and if it had been the dark blue one, I'd have been biting). Go trade it for something you do wantRed Lukin said:

Hmm I had no clue it was rare. It's not worth much to me since it's not my favorite song, but I do take back what I said. Cool of the TC to give one rare and 1 unrare album. That evens it out. Hopefully it's the same with others.0

Less than 100 in existence allegedly - although given there were 20-30 in this event, I'd say it's probably nearer to 150.
Either way, they're damn rarePost edited by Dr Emmett Brown on0 -
Yah you must of been right by me. I bought a gorge 05 tour shirt (to replace the one I'd worn out), a 2nd copy of vault #3 (which I ended up trading for a coke bottle ten), unthought known volcom 7" (which i sold for cost + shipping to another 10c member), and a mystery box. The mystery box was ok. I got a New Orleans '00 bootleg (which I didn't have), a 7" merkinball vinyl (which was awesome because my copy was scratched), a few tshirts I won't wear, and a backspacer bouncy ball which my cat enjoyslotsalemon said:I was probably right near you in that line - by the time I got in, the last of the Benaroya Halls were sold (literally about 10 people or so in front of me) as well as the rest of the desired vinyl and other merch. Even though I was freezing cold outside I did enjoy talking to the two 10c'ers that were in the lineup with me. It definitely made the morning more bearableIf there was any silver lining to it, it's that 10c members are pretty awesome.

I have read every page of this damn thing since it started. I've been doing cartwheels over the cool vinyl everyone's getting. Now this thing 100 pages long. Come on vinyl gods shine a little light on the Aussies wearing out the path to the letter box stalking the post man. Best Money I've spent I have nothing as yet.0

I'll take that orange Fixer off your hands if you hate the song so muchRed Lukin said:Hmm I had no clue it was rare. , I'm quite fond of the song because it's written by Matt, plus it's one of the few songs all the guys are singing at the same time. So what if they are only singing Yea Yea Yea Yea

You're not missing much. Matt just left my place.......his detailing skills are not very strong. And Boom....don't even get me started..... When I say fertilize, I mean fertilize!Bentleyspop said:

absolutely, I know Su May got locked out of the sale, so it'd be cool to let her take the orange fixer if its not appreciated. That's a really nice item, and for the record, whilst its maybe not their strongest track, its still solid.Suziemay said:

I would agree. If I get vinyl I could of purchased off the internet for far cheaper than 10c sold it to me for, I'll be dissapointed. It's like losing at the casino. You knew it was possible going it, but your still dissapointed when you leave. My package hasn't arrived yet so I'm still hoping I get something interesting.Red Lukin said:Zod, I just went to edit my post, but too late since you quoted it. : ) I was so excited when I came to work and see a package from the TC. I struck out, gave my vinyl away, and I am fine with that. I understood it was a gamble, and I would gamble again if the chance ever arose.0
