No- I am not under the influence.
Too many people are taking this thread as a direct attack, whatever this thread is about now.
No one is giving shit to people on this forum - no one.
The Obama thing tangent was trying to get opinions on if they would elect a president knowing he did drugs on his time off, somehow I think not.
And that reason is clear.
As far as doctors go - I sure as fuck would not want to have surgery from a doctor that uses coc for fun. Fuck that.
As far as people banning themselves from this place,
it happens far too often.
sidenote - Quite often it seems the AMT only has a fixed number of people responding. I wonder if it is because a lot of people are in agreement to ignore each other or this place really is dead.
edit - I bolded my quote. seem quoting is messed up again.
I know doctors who use drugs on occasion, and whether you can open your mind enough to believe it or not, it has no effect whatsoever on their ability to provide excellent patient care.
The worst surgeon I ever witnessed with a Bovie in hand was a teetotaling Christian maniac who abstained from all substances, caffeine included. I would much rather go "under the knife" with a confident surgeon who uses responsibly than a hack who abstains, because as I said, what a Dr. does in their free time has nothing to do with their skill and ability.Post edited by rgambs onMonkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -

I also agree that what a doctor or anyone for that matter does in their free time to a degree is private. I also put doctors up with police and other essential services. So I do honestly feel that If a doctor openly told patients that he/she is a rec user of drugs on his free time that doctor would see quite a decline in number of patients in his/her care. Yes, I am well aware that behind closed doors we don't know what a trusted professional does but I would hope that my family doctor is not an illegal coc/heroin etc user recreationally.0 -
Well, well, well How did I miss this little gem. What were you board PJFan.You ignited a firestorm.
My 2 cents- Hard narcotics are dangerous and ruin lives. My sis died of a Oxy(and some other stuff toxic stew of shit)overdose in 2000.
As discussed before, many of us who were in HS and College and were young adults in the 80s and early 90s used the shit out of coke, shrooms, acid etc.I was partying a lot for like 2 years in 88/89 until my wife decided it's time for a family and said enough!
And everything but weed and Beverages stopped right then.Probably saved our lives.
I got free coke every friday(uncut 8ball) just for giving a guy who sold it a ride home from a bar every Friday at 6.30.He also would party with us for an hour or so and only let us use his shit and he would leave that on the mirror also.crazy times,no sleep, lots of seedy fun.glad to make it out alive.Smoked too much in those days.glad that ended also.
It felt like those times were that scene from Forrest Gump when Jenny is partying in LA and Skynard is playing in the background.
Turned to working out rigorously and healthy highs from endorphins and pushing ourselves physically.0 -

No, that's not what I said. It is common knowledge from public statements they have made, that they have been known to use illegal and legal drugs on a recreational basis, which is the criteria that PJfan gave for being a loser.JV130312 said:
So you say that those mentioned above use hard core illegal drugs?rgambs said:Ed, Stone, Jeff, Mike, Matt and Boom are losers!
I don't know which drugs are "hard core", I don't know with what frequency they partake, and I don't know what is in the present and future of their recreation and I didn't say I did. I do know some of what is in their past, and they have historically known how to have a good time when the occasion called for it! :bee:Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0 -

A couple interesting observations after reading 3 pages:
1. People seem to love getting offended
2. In strangely defending the OP, not once did he mention he thinks any one here personally is a loser (see #1)
3. Making blanket statements about a group of people is never a good idea0 -

Get over yourself. alcohol was illegal once too. And between that and pot, most people with half a brain could tell you which of the two is more harmful in all facets of society.

Fact - You did something once 20yrs ago is not considered recreational use.
You are not a loser for smoking pot all the time.
I know alcohol was illegal once. It is no longer, much the same as for personal use of pot really.
Having some wine with your dinner on a Saturday night is not the same as doing lines of coke on a Saturday night. Unless they make cocaine legal, which last time I checked is not going to happen and I really can't see anyone who would advocate for that anyway.
I am not putting any debate out about alcohol vs pot anyway.

I might be hailed as a :pig: -y backer, but amen, Hugh.
Will also say, let those who need to judge, do so. I believe it's more for their (perceived) benefit.
* edited to add - in good conscience, must say that I too judge. We all do...I guess it's more about the manner in which we go about it.Post edited by hedonist on0 -
