How are people concerned for their own and families safety supposed to keep an eye out for such individuals when the only description you get now is as general as " a young Person wearing a white-T and blue jeans" or a "male between the ages of 18-30" . Perhaps it's just the media in my Shitty, but I am just curious to see if this is going on in other big cities as well. No.Our local media calls out race and usually shows a picture.But I'm told from my Pals who do what you do,that they are almost not wanting to do any extra inquiring of the public on random shit,because everything is being thrown back as a race issue."You only stopped me because I'm a Blue person" or "Your only hassling me because I'm green"etc....
If something goes to court,The lawyers are now using this strategy as well.This is the enviorment that is being created in today's Climate.

As far as straight-out descriptions regarding crimes / suspects on our local news, race is typically mentioned along other identifiers such as height, weight, etc.

Bri,I think Dan is touching on a new "walk on eggshells "approach with certain media outlets who want to be PC in describing suspects or people of interest so they are leaving out key identifiers like skin Color in an effort to not offend anyone based on the enviorment of current race issue in his area.The opposite is actually happening, as criminals are not being apprehended quickly because the word getting out to the public is skewed with PC bullshit by the same mammy palsy producers and news crews.

I haven't really noticed that. But then again, I don't watch the news in Chicago very often because it's so goddamn depressing. Shootings, robberies, rapes, etc.. And especially lately with the mayoral race. If this guy Chuy wins, I have picked a perfect time to consider moving to the suburbs.

Yes, it is frustrating. Especially when you write a report w/ specific indentifiers from a legit victim and the media refuses to give out those specific identifiers. The General public has a right to know who to look out for and a description always starts with ethnicity.

I definately think those discussions are dishonest. Nobody will touch this issue w/ a 10 foot pole since nobody in politics want's to be categorized a racist. That's what those honest discussions will lead you too...always does. Let's just start w/ the hands up don't shoot nonsence that turned out to big a massive lie and go from there...

I woujd love for the media to report just the NEWS, that's why I only can handle watching FOX News and the sexiest news caster Ever.....Miss Megan Kelly...hubba hubba..lol
