yeah, it's hard for me to reconcile as well. I guess saying near genius is a bit much. a very very intelligent guy let's say. but the point is the same. total science geek too. not sure how he reconciles that either.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:
This is the puzzling aspect of religion for me: in many cases, you have very intelligent people caught up in beliefs that simply defy logic and science.HughFreakingDillon said:
I have a thing for women in rock in general. I wouldn't call it the "slutty" versoin. The sexed-up sweaty version.rr165892 said:
That's right Paul ,you got a thing for ms Lewis don't ya? I believe we said you preferred the slutty version right?lolHughFreakingDillon said:
he is a great actor. and Juliette still rocks my socks off. so really the point is moo.hedonist said:

I was oddly disappointed when I found out Juliette Lewis was a Scientologist. She is incredible live!Last-12-Exit said:I just watched this show. I simply don't understand how intelligent human being would fall for this. I still have no idea what these people actually believe in. What church send you to "jail" for saying anything negative. This is truly unbelievable.
Are any of you MT people scientologist? I have a thousand questions. Most of them are why?
I still think Tom Cruise is excellent at his craft!
you know, like a cow's opinion.
I thought she was smarter also.
Cruise is a master at his craft. But probably is blinded by status and power as a real person and lives with a sense of entitlement.I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so.
My brother's a borderline genius, and he's a born again christian who believes gays are the work of the devil. so I don't think it's totally accurate to say that intelligence really factors into it.
Introduced at an early age, one can understand why a person would embrace and hold tight what was taught to them while they were influential. Your brother- according to you- is near genius and is 'born again'. These type of cases baffle me.

I had a friend/coworker who - literally from one week to the next - became born-again. Through a church service I'll never understand, she was "out" and then awoke speaking in tongues. All of our subsequent conversations were about what god said to her, what god told her to write, how god damned me for living with my now-husband.
Just seemed so very fucked up and sad too. I couldn't continue that friendship, and I really miss her old self.
As to the Lewis factor - Hugh, I may have said it before, but you should check out Milla Jovovich with Puscifer. Wow!0 -

Here you go, fellas. I love her!
There are live versions out there but the sound isn't the best.
And I dug the bejesus out of Juliette in NBK - not to mention Rodney (one of my favorite films and soundtracks).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eZZZ7g0El4

Good on you for digging the song at such an early hour.0 -
yes, that was one of the all time creepiest movie scenes. I'm surprised DeNiro did it. that could have been a career killer.rr165892 said:
