With hair pie its only $3. I prefer my chowder hair free myself so I paid the extra $2. I'm not saying it was good chowder, but it was only $5. I feel like I wasn't the only one to put my spoon into that chowder today and is smelled a little skunky.

They were offering Hairless Pie (guaranteed to be of proper vintage) but they are now out.

Buckle up boys and girls it's about to get a little rough tonight. It's gonna be wet and sloppy on the east coast =)

Tropical Cyclone Information Statement for Eastern Canada

    Environment Canada
    Alert area: Newfoundland; Nova Scotia

    For tropical storm Claudette.

The next statement will be issued by 9:00 PM ADT.

Tropical storm Claudette forms suddenly southwest of Nova Scotia.

    1. Summary of basic information at 3.00 PM ADT.

    Location: 37.5 N 68.0 W

About 718 km south of Yarmouth.

    Maximum sustained winds: 80 km/hr

Present movement: ne at 24 km/h

    Minimum central pressure: 1004 MB

    2. Public weather impacts and warnings summary.

Tropical storm Claudette developed unexpectedly fast from a sub-tropical disturbance this afternoon. The current guidance and behaviour indicates it will move into our southwestern offshore waters tonight and will move northeast to lie near Sable Island Tuesday night. It may brush Cape Breton Island or move onshore early Wednesday as a weak system. Then it is expected to move into Southwestern Newfoundland and dissipate.

    A. Wind. No Major impacts are expected from this system as the gale force winds are expected to remain offshore.

    B. Rainfall. For Nova Scotia periods of rain are expected to start late Tuesday over the eastern shore and parts of Cape Breton. Periods of rain are expected for Southern and Eastern Newfoundland. It is too early to estimate exact amounts. Another low approaching in the wake of Claudette may actually give higher amounts.

    C. Surge/waves. Wave and surge impact should be minimal with 2 to 3 metre waves being highest. There may be rip currents along the eastern shore on Tuesday, which may affect swimmers.

    3. Marine weather impacts and warnings summary.

Near and ahead of the system gale force southeasterlies are expected for Georges Bank-southern half, west and east Scotian slopes, Sable, eastern shore and Fourchu, starting overnight and continuing into Tuesday.

I expected Meat Cove to be damp and wet and brought extra rain coats with me. As long as it isn't leaving a snail trail behind it as it goes we should be good.

My kids would have no idea what this is. They don't need Saturday morning cartoons. They have a dozen channels just for them plus hulu and amazon where they can get all of them on demand. Its a pity as they never get to experience wakking up on a Saturday morning, grabbing a massive bowl of cereal and loving life.
