Eddie Vedder #1 in my opinion! But I am bias hehe No one beats Ed!

Are we talking voices or stage presence or writting skills ... If we are talking voices i'd say Ian Gillan the original Deep Purple front man def deserves to be way up there ... 1-Plant 2-Gillan 3-daltrey 4-Mercury
I'd say, objectively, That he is one of the most influential rock vocalists since, say, 1965 or so. Sadly, he's mostly influenced shitty musicians. Also objectively, I'd say he's one of the most technically talented and famous vocalists in the history of hard rock music. So yeah... he's up there with Janis Joplin, Little Richard, Bob Dylan... folks who really changed the game...
i could take or leave him in the top 20. Been a lot of great singers through the years. He is instantly recognizable, a great lyricist and has a great onstage presence, so it'd be hard to exclude him.
Not sure I'd say he's all that influential. More imitated, which I look at differently than being a real influence. A lot of bands latched onto the growls vocals early on, once they seen it was popular, but there hasn't been a huge lasting impact.
There are several on that list that I wouldn't have on there at all... but anyway, I agree with #s 1, 2. Decent list. I would replace some with much more obscure people, and Jack White and Josh Home need to be on there too.

If that lists refers to vocals only, it is WAY off. If it refers to frontmen, then yes, i would put ed in the top 5. Plant is #1 either way. Young shouldnt be on either list.

I actually laughed when I saw Neil's name on there, and I'm a HUGE fan.

Oh my. I'll have to back away from this conversation before I get weirdly defensive on behalf of Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

Neil is a great songwriter and I like his work, but singing is in no way his strength.
Well it is one of his main strengths iMO - his voice is a large part of what makes his music so amazing. But his vocal sound is just too weird to be on a list like this.

Obviously click bait. Every other guitarist there is massively influential and/or the driving force in their respective bands.
Freddie Mercury Robert Plant Mick Jagger Elvis Presley Janis Joplin Joe Cocker Ed Kurt Cobain Chris Cornell Grace Slick Bono John Lennon Roger Daltry Neil Young Bob Dylan Axl Rose (I know he can be a jerk but the dude could sing back in the day.) Little Richard Chuck Berry Buddy Holly James Hetfield
I would put Ed as the best frontman of all time. Would be a tight race though with Bono and Bruce. I think Ed makes a better connection with the crowd.
I would say Ed would be top 5 easy, with mucho consideration for No 1. Everyone knows his voice, how many lead singers made money imitating? Too many (looking at you lead singer of Creed)

Are you saying Mike doesn’t deserve to be on that list? I personally think Mike is extremely underrated because of Ed (not Ed’s fault). Mike is a fucking amazing guitar player, if you think he only knows PJ songs you are very very mistaken. Dude creates music

Maynard James Keenan and Scott Weiland deserve a little bit more love in my opinion. So versatile and Maynard's lungs are among the best in the business (army and cross country training paid off).
I think if you looked solely at baritones Ed would be right at the top. So many people tried to do the same in the wake of Ten, some sounded good but never had the impact Ed did for me.
Weiland wasn't one of the Ed wannabes. Mighty Joe Young was doing their thing with a lot of Core songs before PJ formed. And Tiny Music should have disspelled any myths.
Cobain and Lennon are in similar boats for me too. Such beautiful and accessible voices which played huge parts in making their bands what they are-just guess they didn't perform the vocal acrobatics Cornell Halford et al did in the eyes of a lot of people.
