1998 melbourne vinyl?

I was wondering the quality of this bootleg? I see a few on ebay for cheap....heard the show years ago and i know it was suppose to be released with single video theory!!! Thanks!!

Sort of. It was originally aired on FM radio in Australia. Copies of the feed before it broadcast over FM (which would be higher quality) were also circulated. It's one of the best boots from 98 and is widely circulate.

When SVT came out Best Buy was going to include a CD called Give Way. Give Way was a single disc version of the show (which mean that many songs were cut out). The thing about Give Way is that it sounds better (to my ears) than the broadcast bootlegs that circulate. I'm not sure how best buy got a better source of the recording.

I'm not sure what source was used on the vinyl. Maybe the hybrid fan source where someone used give way and spliced in the pre-fm recording to fill in the gaps (a few copies of Give Way were not destroyed so it's pretty easy to download a cd quality rip of it).

I think the vinyl sounds pretty good. The artwork is pretty ghetto.

Vinyl will be the same quality as any download and $40 more expensive

Give Way is the superior version of this show - even minus the songs that were left off.

  • I'm listening to this right now now and I think it sounds pretty damn good. If you like spinning vinyl and you don't overpay (I bought 2 copies, $25 each, for me and friend for this price), go for it.

Yes, the artwork is ghetto and the name is redonkulous but I believe the "suck on my..." label is not on the newer (?) copies.

I have seen that same label on recent ebay auctions. but either way. If I do buy one again, I'll see about making my own sleeve.

I'd LOVE to know if you do this and if you'd share it. I had wished it was the '95 show so I could just scan in the KTS bootleg artwork for the "Down Under" release and turn it into a vinyl sleeve. That Down Under boot has always been one of my favorites.

  • Nice work! I recall seeing that before! How about a pic of the finished product (front & back)?
  • FWIW, mine says: "Creative Presents ON THE AIR."

Apparently mine might be "more real" than others?

I have this on CD & I wished that all boots sounded like this & the 1995 Melbourne shows. I somehow have memories of listening to both these live on the radio. Killer shows

Just got this recently, and it sounds pretty good... the track listing was off (however, it was on a plain white sheet of paper) it left off, I Got ID and Pebbles... not sure what else was left of the track list, but the sleeve I got was just plain white cardboard... I like the artwork you created pjradio... hopefully you wont mind me using that too? - It is awesome having a Yield era vinyl though, since I missed out on getting Live On Two Legs on Vinyl when it came out...

To be clear, you mean I Got Shit wasn't on the paper setlist, right? because Its on the LP.

Brain of J is the only track left off the LP (but is on the paper setlist). I assume because it was a b-side.
