how much do packs of these cards go for? It looks like a box is around $50, but I'm not trying to get a bunch of baseball cards I dont want

Sure but I'd rather pay $1.49 plus $2 or $3 for shipping rather than keep buying packs in the hopes one shows up

All gone now. $1.84 Canadian. Just searched "2015 Topps Baseball First Pitch PRESELL" over on eBay. I would too just pay that instead of buying packs & packs to find the Ed card. Which is pretty much the only card I want.

Packs will be affordable. $1.99 at places like Target and Walmart. Still might be better off buying one Vedder card on eBay. After the initial rush when the set comes out, prices for one will die down.

Just hang tight. There will be a ton on eBay when the set comes out on February 4th.

Guys these will not be rare like others said. Please dont overpay right now. People are paying $30 right now for the presale. $3 should be more like it. These are modern day Topps cards.

Has topps released what the insert rate will be per pack? That would go a long way to determining how tough they will be to find.

Ok, by the sounds of this thread, the 15 celebs will be in the 350 odd 2015 Topps baseball set, correct? I thought the 15 would have been a special set in there own right?

    Can someone confirm.

If it's an insert set, those are not typically included in the regular issue. They are inserted into packs at a much lower ratio than the cards in the regular set and card companies usually announce the insert rate such as 1:24 packs.

The First Pitch cards will not be apart of the 350 card base set. As On2legs said, they will be considered insert cards. There are thousands of different cards in the entire set of 2015 Topps. Unfortunately, it's not like the old days when there were only a few hundred.

Even if the odds to pull a First Pitch cards are say, 1:8 Packs, pulling an Eddie Vedder out of one individual pack will still be somewhat difficult.

eBay will be the best place to buy one of these cards. It's best to wait a couple weeks after February 4th, as prices for the cards will come down after the initial rush to get one.

Even if the First Pitch cards are "short printed" - meaning, somewhat hard to get, the price will still drop.

Cards that are in hand will begin showing up on eBay around February 1st.

    Good luck!

Imagine if they did an autographed version of the first pitch? Then we would see craziness around here :D

  • The Vedder card will be had for $5. Don't pay anymore than that.

Topps makes 1/1 Gold Superfractor Cards for alot of their releases. Some go for more than 1K.

Check ebay for superfractor to see what I mean. A Vedder Superfractor would be pricey.

Exactly. This Topps series is their standard, low end release and is mass produced. They literally print ass loads of this series. You will be able to buy packs of these at all discount retailers, gas stations, almost anywhere shit is sold for around a buck.

Now if these were included in something like Topps Finest Chrome , which is a premium brand with a limited print run then there would be more demand.

Also most people in the world could give two turds about the Eddie card. This will go for about $2 on the low end $15 would be the absolute max.

    * Disclosure, I use to wheel and deal sports cards pretty heavily.

Cheers guys for the input. As an Aussie, was just wondering about the print run and how I get them. So no First Pitch packs as a series, just at insert at a ratio you suggest in previous posts. Thanks Tempo, on2legs etc

Don't think these will be hard to find either. Not sure yet how many sets were made but it'll probably be over 5,000+.

i don't see them on Topps site. i went for pre-order set of 15. seems like JW and EV are only inflated cards. the full set has 350 cards plus 130 inserts according to an Ebay listing. they want $119 for that. i guess this is the first 2015 conversation piece!
    Randall's Island 9-29-1996, MSG 9-10/11-1998, Meadows, CT 9-13-1998, Sacramento 10-30-2000, Bridge School 10-26-2002,MSG 9-8/9-2003, Hartford 2013, Amsterdam 2014(2), Memphis 2014, MSG 5-1/2-2016, Fenway 8-7-16, Fenway 9-2/4-18 MSG 9-11-22
  • Just looked at the insert ratios for series 1, there is none listed for the First Pitch cards. Will have to wait and see.

I would like the Biz Markie card. Hope they do a Baba Booey card, too!

I think the EV card will fetch a pretty penny, especially if the insert ratio runs 24:1.

They will be available over @ http://www.topps.com/catalog/category/view/s/baseball-trading-cards/id/173/ in a few day's.

Haven't heard any word if there will be a variant, foil, hologram or signed Ed cards randomly inserted yet. Which would be pretty freaking sweet!

  • demetriosdemetrios Posts: 93,667
Prices are already dropping on eBay. Used to be 30+ bucks US. Now they are selling for under 15 on these pre orders. Just another few more day's till the official release.

This will be fun. Hope Ed is ready for this. Ready as in seeing these baseball cards by fans wanting to get signed by him each & every day. :p I know I'll be carrying his card in a plastic sleeve next tour hoping to get it signed by Ed, if I get a chance. :bz
