  • Just got my refund. Still don't have proof that he had his "identity stolen." Seems much more likely that he realized he wasn't going to get away with this.

Did you guys get refunds from him or from PayPal? If the latter, did you pay as a gift or goods & services?

Makes me wonder if the guy/gal is well (mentally and physically). Sorry, not minimizing what happened to folks on the bad end of this thing. Certainly not making excuses for the OP either.

Mine is from him, but it is pending until 2/11, so I haven't technically gotten my $$ back yet

I paid good and services and had a dispute already filed with PayPal. This was a refund initiated by him. Meaning that this whole story of "identity theft" is BS. If someone steals your identity to open a fake PayPal account and you report it to PayPal, they don't just say, "Well now that you've proved that this name on the account is actually yours, we'll give you full access to the account so you can offer refunds." NO! They take over the account, shut it down, and may or may not send refunds based on the results of a long investigation.

Exact, OP is nothing but a liar and attempted scam artist

Always better than being the ass. Glad things are working out.

  • I tried to get the towel. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Nice to see everyone got their dough back on this thread though!

I guess when people start bothering his friends and family, the scammer really has no choice but to start giving back what he stole.
