I would be fine with a return to bolt-action rifles, lever-action shotguns, and revolvers. Analog-style weapons that, while very deadly, wouldn't allow for such wanton mass destruction, and still preserve the rights of self-protection and hunting. That is hard to imagine, the gun enthusiasts would poop their pants if they had to use their actual dicks for their dick measuring contests.

We are not gun owners, but I suppose that if I was CC and that I had a 2 year old with me (or any child for that matter), I certainly wouldn't consider leaving my purse in the cart with them with a loaded gun. Just saying.

For the record, I don't leave my purse in the cart anyhow. People steal that stuff. Imagine if they stole her purse WITH a loaded gun in it and what damage they could do then.

I don't know what the answer to this is legislatively. :sigh: It's so very sad. "So, how did your mom die?" "I shot her when I was 2." Can you imagine the life this kiddo will have to lead?

I absolutely agree. And yet, after all of the death and destruction, we have idiots like these two. [img][/img]myfox8.com/2015/01/11/parents-arrested-after-filming-baby-playing-with-gun/

Gun laws are like cops as of recently, you only hear of the bad things. Sure things could use some work but nobody wants to work anything out.

What is to work out? I can't imagine what would make a person want to bring a concealed gun with them to go shopping at walmart with their kids. Permit or not, what the fuck makes you think that is normal? or Is there really a need to carry a concealed loaded gun with you when you go out?

I can't believe this incident isn't pissing more people off. I don't even leave anything smaller than a golf ball lying around to make sure it is not accidentally picked up and placed in the mouth of my children to prevent choking.

Who the fuck leaves a loaded weapon with children around and turns their back? - that shit is fucked up.

Stupid, stupid, stupid parent/individual. Apparently the father gave her a purse that had a "special pocket to conceal the weapon". Who gives a shit? What a stupid mom/parent to leave a loaded weapon lying around at an arms length of a child.

This story is so bizarre it seems fake.

I can give you an example. A friend of mine has dealings with a rather high profile drug case. He is a probation officer who had a few of his case load get busted in a rather large drug sting dealing with major cartels. He is not legally aloud to carry on duty in the state of minnesota, but has a concealed weapons permit for his personal life. He was shopping with his daughter, oddly enough at a Walmart, when walking out a man approached him talking to him about how he knows he is a probation officer and has certain clients. He was being friendly and cordial but kept referencing his daughter and the clients. My friend then saw the same man walking in front of his house a few days later as well as at a coffee shop. This is in a small town, certainly could have been a coincidence, but this is just one of many reasons why someone might be compelled to carry a weapon when at Walmart with their children.

The gun owner here made a terrible terrible mistake, she cannot live with it, and that poor child has to...but there are reasons why people feel compelled to carry around their children...that being said, there isn't much more that needs to be said other than this was terrible, and completely irresponsible and hopefully wakes those people with conceal and carry permits up and makes them examine whether they need it or not.

That is a good story all of it. I would hope though that you can agree that turning your back on a child for a second with a loaded weapon at their arms reach should've never been done.

absolutely, first thing I thought to myself. Conceal and carry should be on you, not around you but that is my opinion, and accidents like this just reinforce it for me...

I feel so badly for this family and that child...I can't imagine the life they will lead carrying around that guilt. irresponsible gun owners really get me angry.

Though I've had challenges finding supporting stats, feel having a gun increases your risk of injury or death. This is classic example.

You can only do Rex kwon do when you're dressed like peter pan though. It's just not effective otherwise. Make sure you grab the right wrist as well.
