Yikes...that completely sucks. Were they trying to shove it in your mailbox?
Who knows. The person sent it in a vinyl mailer AND bubble wrapped it. The corner is wrecked then they folded it in half. I wonder if someone read Fragile and decided to be a Richard cranium?
That happened with my special edition Blunderbuss through third man. Was lost in the mail and then showed up just like your copy of yield. Fortunately Third Man was understanding and sent me a replacement after I returned the damaged one to them.
Its completely unacceptable that the post office would treat a package that way.

i ship a lot of lps and have found it best NOT to mark it fragile. i think it's code for banging it as many times as humanly possible. insurance is fun too! sorry for your loss
Man.....how many post office stops did that package make? I've had to file a claim before for a damaged record through USPS, I got a check back for the full purchase price in a few months...it takes time, so good luck...

Ouch, i just shipped out a few records recently, including Yield in a trade with someone here. Also waiting on a few records, including another copy of Yield... hope none of them arrive like that. Good luck getting a refund outta them, that's rediculous!
Dang, man, that stinks. I just don't get it.....their one and only job is to get something from point A to point B in a safe and efficient manner. How packages can get so banged up, I mean you have to really try to F something up that bad, is beyond me @-) . Hope you're able to work out everything and get a refund.
ps - T_n_G... dude, that more than blows. i didn't meant to make light of a terrible situation. hopefully you get the cash you need to buy a replacement from USPS.
it's worth noting that the holiday season probably contributed to this poor record's demise. Dunno if USPS does it but Fed Ex and UPS both hire seasonal help at this time to handle the increased volume of packages. It also means that more shit gets tossed around carelessly.
I'd walk right in to the post office and ask to speak to the manager with that thing in my hand. It will be a COMPLETE waste of time and energy, and will serve absolutely no purpose as they won't do anything about it, but you never know.
Thanks everyone. It hurts because that's only less vinyl in the world. I'm very thankful that the trader had insurance too. I've never received something damaged like this so out of 1000 things shipped it's not that bad. It's just a shame. Hopefully I get refunded and I can locate a replacement.
