I'm not on Facebook... You couldn't pay me.
Gotta tell you though. It seems kinda weird to post here, that you are having a raffle somewhere else. Unless there is something about it that might be perceived as shady by members here or the actual 10c. More transparency equals less red flags. Just my two cents. :)>-

Adam, I don't take Chief's opinion as trolling. I think he's just frustrated he can't be part of something that other fans have shown interest to being part of. It's just his opinion and perception from seeing a head's up post here but then not being able to get the details. The details are 100% transparent but only to those on Facebook so I understand where he's coming from as well as your thought process.

Definitely legit to ask questions here when the raffle is purposefully being advertised here

Some nice prizes by the way. novel way of clearing out at top whack return, and also getting some high end items into peoples hands for a cheap ticket. Seems fun, but theres nothing I need so Im not taking a ticket but good luck to all that do.

Im not convinced the prizes equate to the total amount raised but there appears to be full transparency at the outset on what is included against the price and amount of entries and people are wanting in on the action so all is good.

Kudos to the runners of this thing for being so clear on the condition of items listed, like how that is really being defined to the minor defects too.

    Thanks Paul and Dave.

The sum of the total prize value was based on data we pulled from EB and ebay. We then added shipping to the prices as well. As you guys stated, we are trying to be as transparent as possible. Even keeping the participants visible as well. This was posted here for advertisement only. I appreciate the fact that not all people want to be on Facebook but this is how we have chosen to run this. One stop shop for all information and people to see the latest status.

I should point out the drawing will actually be done live on UStream. So definitely full transparency the whole way through.

Good luck... Not trolling at all, but if you guys had a good charitable cause (Elwayvedder's perhaps ;) ) you may sell more entries.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

It seems like they are well on their way to capacity. I think they are making out a good deal IMO, especially considering the Grand Prize is a S/D... but why not? People are gobbling it up and excited.

For me, there is nothing I am really looking for. If there was a PJ20 Mark 5... then Id be all about it. A lot of the prizes seem at or below the entry cost (at least to me), and there is a 70% of coming up empty. I already have the Pittsburgh 13 poster, and I have no desire for the ugly Detroits 14.

It would be interesting to see how the total ebeans/market value of the prizes compares to the $3K that the organizers are bringing home.

Cant really fault the guys as people are voting with their feet. for $25 they get a little cool excitement......everyone knows everything before they enter.

Gotta say I think its been well put together.....

Facebook is a good forum to go to these days with such things as there are no stipulations as to running it and less drama (generally speaking because its a closed group).

I'd be happy to enter on behalf of one international person - but you'd have to pay the entry fee and shipping costs associated if you win and I ship. I would serve as a go-between and a U.S. address.

Ty,me and Adam put in a lot of effort into this. There's a huge raffle group for Sperry,Emek and Spusta on facebook. That's were we got the idea from. Everything was thought about and re thought about many times. We felt this was a great way to allow someone a shot at winning some killer prizes. As well as making some xtra holiday cash. 2 fn that's a great idea and very cool of you to offer someone. Thanks again and good luck to all.

I'm glad reputable people are running this raffle, but I can see someone else starting one up and disappearing with the money. Especially on facebook where you can be whoever you want to be. At least here the ten club has your member info on file.

Good luck to all the entrants.

    *These guys are reputable.

It did cross my mind though that it would be easy to set up a friend or 2 to enter and "win" the big prizes while taking some cut.

I wonder if there is some way to truly verify a random draw like this?

This is true, and people have to be very careful in entering anything ....do the research first and pay paypal as goods...... I don't know if that will offer protection but its a start I guess

but on this occasion I would be very very sure that these guys are the real deal as you point out and there are no concerns. If another pops up, people are sure to discuss it and im sure between us we can work it out

Can you make a Paypal payment as "goods and services" when it is a raffle, with no guarantee of receiving a good or service?

Would the 45 day protection exist if a raffle turned into a scam? (I'm not saying this raffle is a scam!!)

What would prevent someone from filing a Paypal claim, just because they didn't win?

Seems pretty cool to me, well done guys!

Really no different than a mystery tube sale, but in this case you may not get anything, but it also costs a fraction of what a mystery tube sale runs so seems like a good trade off to me.

Just playing devil's advocate, but facebook it's pretty easy to verify if someone is real or not based upon their activity. I'm sure anyone running a raffle as such would accept friend requests and it's pretty easy to verify someone as real.

That doesn't mean they still couldn't run with the money, but I find it much more comforting than this forum. All you get here is a screen name. Yeah, ten club has member info on file, but I doubt they are giving away private member info to other members at their request. If they are, I'm not sure how great I feel about being a member here. I don't want my address or private information given out at will because someone accuses me of ripping them off. I don't have any concerns about being accused of that, but the mere possibility of my privacy being invaded like that by an institution I trusted with my private information just makes me shudder.

It seems to be run by reputable people that are known here. Basically, if someone doesn't feel good about it, they shouldn't join, but facebook has nothing to do with it and this forum definitely doesn't offer any protections to members who trade here. I actually joined a charity raffle on this forum and won (just a MSG cd that was worth a few bucks), sent my private info, and never received it. I saw some messages that it took longer to send everything than they wanted, and at some point I just chalked up the $5 or $10 whatever it was to a good cause.
