Boring, generic, lame, unimaginative...the worst song on Pearl Jam's worst album. It's not even worthy of being a Bon Jovi song.

They should have included another Matt Cameron song instead...to give the album some merit, and to piss off Message Pit members with bad taste in music.

    Discuss.

Why are we even having this debate when parachutes has been written???This is obviously their worst track.

I think the problem lies in the fact that the rest of the cd is pure perfection :)

the worst song by far is MAnKIND its thats simple
  • well, the worst is either 'goat' (though the baa'ing is funny!) or foxymophandle...I'm going for the latter. Though I never liked Gremmie either.

Come back is fantastic! The coupla times I heard it live it was amazing too. I love the outro. It's in the vein of Last Kiss and Soldier of Love and I think PJ pull off that style better than anyone.

Still listen to them though. Skipping a PJ song is like talking back to your mother, you just don't do it.

Unless it's Crazy Mary. I avoid that song like the plague.

haven't read the thread...but come back wins a grammy if it's up against pilate.
  • oh well,to each their own no matter how wrong you are. comeback is a great song.

Do you like Black? If so not sure why you dislike this song so much - they are different yes, but more or less the same concept and similar musically. Not to mention it has a pretty nice guitar solo. I personally like the latest PJ album a lot.

Oh come on... Comeback does not even come close to Black

I don't think Comeback is a particularly good song, actually I think it is quite cheesy. Cute singalong at the end though

I find comeback boring and it and parachutes were the only let downs on Pearl Jam IMO....while I'm at it, nothing as it seems doesn't get much rotation on my station :D

When it comes to the more mellow songs, I think the Matt Cameron era of the band holds some of the best, and some of the worst the band as written at this point. Come back has never really held my attention, and neither has Thumbing My Way. As much as I love Light Years...it sounds a whole heck of a lot like Thin Air.

Now songs like All Or None, Nothing As It Seems, You Are, and Sleight Of Hand are totally brilliant tunes...some of the best i've heard by the band. Can't Keep on Benaroya Hall is absolutely incredible.

So in relation to this thread, I agree partially to the guy who started this thing. So nope, I don't think Come Back the worst song in the catalog...thats an almost impossible question. But yep. I skip Come Back a lot.

I agree. I love Sleight of Hand. :)
I don't like to talk negatively about their music, but my least favorite song of PJ's is Evacuation.
Worst song by anyone ever: Ice, Ice, Baby.

And I don't feel right when you're gone away

I guess there's no accounting for taste, but what?
  • rgf030rgf030 Posts: 3
well what i meant by that was...I love light years, but because it sounds similar to Thin Air, it kind of turns me off to the song a bit more than some.

I also forgot to throw Of The Girl onto the "best" list. I wish they would play that more often...

Can´t take that seriously, for sure. Latest album is pretty LAME! Hardely a surprise on it (unlike EVERY other PJ album beofre it). And some of the lyrics are just plain...well, "shit" is the word that comes to mind, which is actually not so important for me, more interested in voice than words, (regarding PJ) .

Boring, predictable and aimed a Stadia audiences. I sincerely hope that the band will now take a good long break and come back with something ORIGINAL, which they could never have been acused of not doing up to now. My prediction is that in time this album will be viewed as aturning point and hope that it is towards a new direction, not, as someone lese said.

Mind you, I do like the version of Come Back on Immagine...Eddies´s wicked!
