Boring, generic, lame, unimaginative...the worst song on Pearl Jam's worst album. It's not even worthy of being a Bon Jovi song.

They should have included another Matt Cameron song instead...to give the album some merit, and to piss off Message Pit members with bad taste in music.

you so called PJ fans that complain about PJ songs then your not much of a fan

    what a brilliant first post
actually the hardcore are way more critical of the band then the casual fans or even the johnny come lately types
  • i think people start threads like this to start arguements - anyone else notice that the original poster hasn't said a word since the 1st post? (unless he has since the time i read the posts, til i posted this)

without the slow part of the pearl jam catalogue there'd be no:

    release
    oceans
    indifference
    who you are
    off he goes
    present tense
    around the bend
    faithfull
    wishlist
    untitled
    low light
    light years
    thin air
    sleight of hand
    parting ways
    thumbing my way
    all or none
    yellow ledbetter
    fatal
    hard to imagine
    driftin
    parachutes
    wasted (reprise)
    come back

not sure why i made a list, but eh, they stay.

  • What a Munson; this guy is a true idiot.

Comeback is beautiful, poignant, and truly inspiring. Also, Pearl Jam is their best album.

  • i've been waiting for this thread for so long. come back is a worthless song, and the talk earlier in the year about it being an appropriate prom song was laughable. i feel like it kills the momentum on the album, and i nearly always skip it before inside job comes on.

actually never both at one show as far as I remember-they know better than that!

last time I believe was sleight of hand at storytellers
    might be wrong about that

I dig the slow stuff, but those two, along with come back and thumbing my way are just kinda boring to me

of course you can question it, thats called good communication and healthy debating

OK that's cool can't wait to hear those songs live again .........
jesus greets me looks just like me ....
  • Again there are few and far between bands today that could outlast PJ and look at all the bands that are finally taking credit they are fans of PJ.. I love this band they are truly inspiring in every way.. They are what you call greatest bands of all time every album is different in so many ways and they first get criticised for it then boom it grows on you no other bands music can do they other bands songs suck or you like it PJ songs rock.. SO please to all idiots that complain about PJ songs please quit making youself look at fool and quit posting noone wants to here your whiniing go whine to your mommy. or dog or whomever will listen to you
  • Looks like you need the stupid slapped out of you as well.

Come Back is amazing. The lyrics hit close to home for me, and the guitar solo couldn't be more perfect for this song.

    agreed...

to the OP ... BBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! you suck lol

And I really dig most of them, except four, which I just dont like all that much

    come back
    thumbing my way
    sleight of hand
    nothing as it seems

they are ok, I just dont care for em that much.
    all you haters back off
those of you who like every single PJ song are most likely, not being objective
  • My hatred of "Come Back" has nothing to do with the tempo of the song. It's a generic and boring piece of shit, regardless of how fast it's played, and I'm sick of people talking about how great it is, and then bashing PJ's more inventive and interesting songs such as those written by Matt Cameron. Apparantly, if a song has interesting chords and tempo changes, it's a "shitty song", but crap like "Come Back" is worshipped by the masses. People compare it to "Black", talk about how it was in "Friday Night Lights", how it should be their prom song, how it touches them in a special way and makes them cry, etc...you people are fucking LAME! "Black" and "Come Back" shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath.

Interesting chords and tempo changes do not a good song make, guy. Simplicity can be a good thing, as much as snobs hate to admit it.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

I don´t care what you say, but I totally love Come Back. It´s one of my favorite songs. I hope that when they Come Back to South America, they play it.
  • Utter fucking madness.

Come Back is great, my second favorite song on that record.

It is the first PJ song with a discernable soul influence and I think that is fantastic.

I certainly understand you're not liking the song because you think it's boring, but why do think that it is generic? Pearl Jam has never attempted anything remotely like this, and it is nothing like a typical rock "power" ballad. It is certainly "experimental" for Pearl Jam if not for someone like Otis Reading.

I love Come Back, it's my favorite song on Avocado, and I couldn't give a flying fuck who else likes it or dislikes it. Everybody is different. But it's a special song to me and that's all I care about. :p
    NOPE!!!

    *~You're IT Bert!~*

    Hold on to the thread
    The currents will shift
  • I think Get Right,Rival,Glorified G and Help,Help are the worst songs they've ever made.
