Fair warning that of my music friends half are obsessed with him and half hate him. I'm obviously the former. Genius songwriter. Best in the last 20 years imo.

But where we can all agree is these Sturgill shows are on another level. You have to catch this tour because who knows what tomorrow brings.

A good show review. I'm going to see him next month and I haven't been this excited for a show in a long time. Just listened to the Huntsville show and A Good Look>L A. Woman>Fastest Horse In Town is killer!

Saw the show last night in Philly. It was incredible, played for 3h straight, 31 songs. The band is so tight, I know he is deep into the tour at this point but this is a must see

Went to the show last night in Hampton and it lived up to the hype. Probably the most sparse stage setup I've ever seen but these guys are all about the music. They are tight and played for 3 hours straight. What a show! The best thing I've seen since Pearl Jam in Charlottesville in 2013 and a top 3 show I've been to in over 30 years of going to concerts.
  • Another post to praise this tour, sweet Jesus the DC show was fire. 3 hours and 15 minutes, non stop, jams galore. If you are anywhere near Toronto or Boston, DO NOT MISS these shows
  • Had a bunch of buddies back home go to the show at the anthem and they’re going out of their way to make me jealous, and I am! I hope he comes to Denver next year

  • For those in the know, are there rumors of him coming around this year? Red Rocks was flirted earlier.

No rumors I know of but I’m hoping for some shows between the Texas festival and Stagecoach in April. RR would definitely make sense.

I'm not a musician, but can anyone speak to Sturgill's musicianship? I think he is brilliant.

He’s phenomenally talented. Amazing electric guitarist, acoustic, singer, bandleader, performer, songwriter… winner on all fronts. And seems like the most humble guy.

Good explanations of where his guitar sound comes from. If you haven't checked out his first band Sunday Valley I highly recommend doing so.

I always thought his guitar playings skills are much more advanced than the average "country" musician, even when he plays acoustic. His Tiny Desk concert for NPR is quite possibly my favorite acoustic performance across any genre.

I have two Sunday Valley cds sitting on my desk at the moment.  My friend ripped both albums from YouTube for me.  The Sunday Valley performances that are on YouTube are awesome no doubt.
