What a cute little guy, I think he deserves to be moved forward in this thread so he can keep an eye on us....Hobbes said:
Have you heard of the Shelf Elf? He's a scout for Santa that reports back on the behavior of the kid. The idea is that the parents move him to a different shelf every night so the kid thinks this thing is real. Creepy doll watching me as I sleep. I don't think so.SD48277 said:
Usually kids find out from their friends or they figure it out on their own (they are kind-of smart that way).Empty Glass said:Stupid question(s):
At what age do you tell kids about Santa? Also, do you tell them or do they find out from friends? I honestly can't remember how I found out
How come kids are not more creeped out with the whole "He sees you when you're sleeping, He knows when you're awake" deal? My friend and I were just mentioning that Santa comes off as a stalker with talk like that.0 -
So, is he getting paid?? Can he ban us??? :-SS ;;)0

I always buy whatever water/soda/beer I need here in Seattle before I go to Oregon, then before we leave, I turn it in for the cash. Supposedly, it's to encourage people to recycle.ldent42 said:

When I lived in Cali, the apartment's lawn people stole all the bottles out of our recycling bin after mowing the lawn, dug thru the dumpster too.The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

When I lived in Cali, we used to buy our beer with the recycling money from collecting bottles and cans all week at work/ home/ school. Pretty crazy!RKCNDY said:

There are bottle/can collectors here too. Most people in houses or store fronts/warehouses put the returnable stuff in a separate bag so they can just take it and move on without going through your whole garbage pile. In buildings they usually help the super sorting the recycles so they keep the returnable stuff. Most places have a limit to how much they will let one person return in a day, so they can't even return their entire haul in one shot.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

In Germany, you even get money back when you are at a club. You pay like 0,50 or a Euro more for your drink and then get the money back when you return the container. This also goes for festivals. I still have the urge to cling on to my bottle or glass over here lol I also have been collecting bottles or glasses at clubs way back then and sometimes went home with more money than I came with. (This was very very rare though, doesn't feel good :P )
In my hometown, there is even a project where people made a special basket to attach to public waste buckets where people can throw their bottles in so the people who "dive" for the bottles and cans don't have to go through the garbage. It definitely encourages recycling, and I like that a lot. We did have it in East German times as well. We got money for old paper, bottles and plastics I think too.
Cav was surprised of how clean the venues looked in Berlin after the show, because people brought their containers back. There are festivals where people get a garbage bag at the entrance with their ticket and get 5 Euros when they bring it back full. Many a times people who spent all their money at the festival bought their ticket home by collecting garbage on site. Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue! http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/148993/please-pearl-jam-consider-a-vinyl-benaroya-hall-re-issue0 -

Stupid question: why would anyone marry Charles Manson?ELITIST FUK0

Rationally, I could guess it is for fame, given the fact that he is safely in jail anyway, but some people have very odd attractions.SD48277 said:Stupid question: why would anyone marry Charles Manson?

That, and I honestly believe that people disastrously discredit his his Socio-intelligence. He's a classified genius in three separate categories of Sociological interaction. But he's also a Sociopath. ( which by the way is not easy to diagnose, it is starkly a likened to narcissism, which in its own right is pathetic compared to this disorder). When Manson was being kept up in Leavenworth for a short time during repair to his original holding area in Calif. I was working on a construction job out there,( Leavenworth). And they had very strict rules concerning him. He was never allowed into ANY population, he was assigned six guards that rotated watches and movement procedures, and he ate his meals on the company of those guards and the only other Sociopath there in Leavenworth. They were constantly trading out rotation guards for him because he always managed to get into their heads and convince them ( guards) to give him things he wasn't supposed to have etcetera. He is allowed visitation and communications to the outside world, letters phone calls etc. but I've never EVER seen a warden so terrified of a prisoner in holding as this guy Levee was of Manson. I don't know if his rules for conduct in living facilities was the same or similar in Calif, but I do know they made the Leavenworth staff study his case, sociopathic behavior in genius degrees and conduct formats for up to six months before they agreed to transfer him. I saw him only once in that whole time we worked on the facility. They made us sit inside this processing cage while they brought him outside for his hour.. Alone. I kinda felt bad for him. But my Mother was still alive then, and I went home to talk to her about it. I guess they know what they're doing.. As for marrying him.. I think he's just really good at playing sheepish, and apparently, according to my then alive Mother, has some amazingly guard crushing charismatic influence. According to her, he was really good at making each person feel as if he loved them do much that they owed him their loyal and devoted service. He just looked old and broken down to me. But he's really good at what he does too. The fact that someone is marrying him or has... Scares me..oftenreading said:
