You welcome ... I was especially moved by the lawyer who ran back and helped the soldier ... she a hero and should have been honoured at the hockey games Saturday night (maybe she was).

The response by Canadians in general (and our friends to the south) has been fantastic. The response by our government still remains to be seen.....but so far not so good.

So weird to see Canada in the midst of this kind of craziness but I guess it shouldn't be a surprise seeing as the whole world is going batty. I once wrote a really amateur song called "Blue Empyrean" when I was living on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington while staring across the Strait of San Juan de Fuca towards Canada because that country seemed like a refuge of sorts. Maybe yes, maybe no.

I think it's fair to say it still is. This kind of thing is still rare here at least.

I do love the way most Canadians have been reacting to the unfortunate events that have happened in Canada recently. Makes me proud of the people here. I read about the youtube video below this morning where three people decided to do an experiment in Ottawa to see how people would react to racism towards Muslims days after the shooting. I think its worth checking out:

Nicely done, Walking the Miles and Canadian citizens! Not sure we would get the same results in many street corners down here but I hope so! I couldn't quite get what the negative thing at the end was but the fact that so many at the bus stop stood up for the guy playing the part of a Muslim- that was cool!

I guess the negative thing was the fact that he got punched out. It looked like that didn't feel to good.
I also like at the end of the video when the guy says to the officer, No I didn't see who did it, was from behind so I can't identify. (A lie to keep anyone from being arrested for assault). Took his lumps for the cause.

I thought the blood was fake. Didn't he have fake blood before they started shooting? If he did get punched- that sucks.

No, he was punched, the intro was recorded after I'm pretty sure. See my edit on my previous post (done after your post).

You're right, my mistake. It was in Hamilton, which is where the victim of the shooting was from.
