Available for Pre-Order beginning today, we are pleased to present a deluxe vinyl release of the Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Volume 1 soundtrack featuring original artwork by Tyler Stout. We listened to Awesome Mix Volume 1 pretty much non-stop the month before the Guardians’ theatrical release, and it’s unreal to have the opportunity to press the soundtrack on vinyl.

    image

We released Tyler’s Guardians of the Galaxy poster a few months back, and couldn’t be happier to have the artwork reformatted for the vinyl jacket. And not only that – this release marks our very first screen-printed album packaging, so each jacket will have the look and feel of a Tyler Stout screen-printed poster. We are excited to work with D&L Screenprinting in Seattle, who will be screen-printing the front, back and even the interior of the jacket!

As an additional bonus, each record comes with one of nine randomly inserted screen-printed handbills featuring various characters from the film, which you can see below.

    image

Unlike our vinyl releases that feature randomly-inserted variant discs, each of the single LPs will be pressed on 180 Gram Purple Infinity Stone colored vinyl. We’ll be sure to post detail shots of the disc soon!

Just in case you need more convincing, here’s the unbelievable tracklisting:

Hooked on a Feeling – Blue Swede
Go All the Way – Raspberries
Spirit in the Sky – Norman Greenbaum
    Moonage Daydream – David Bowie
Fooled Around and Fell in Love – Elvin Bishop
I Want You Back – The Jackson 5
    I’m Not in Love – 10cc
Come and Get Your Love – Redbone
    Cherry Bomb – The Runaways
Escape (The Piña Colada Song) – Rupert Holmes
O-O-H Child – The Five Stairsteps
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

Because of the hand-done nature of this project, both with the vinyl and packaging, we do not expect these to begin shipping until the first quarter of 2015. Each record will come in a 3 mil poly bag to protect the integrity of the screen-print.

    Come and Get Your Love!

I totally didn't know about the sale. During my lunch break Justin twitted about it and right away I had to pick up a copy. Have been listening to the soundtrack for a while now. And the art, is awesome!! Scored a regular edition GotG print by Stout over @ Mondo many weeks back. Was hoping to win the lottery for the variant edition. No luck there. D'oh!

I still haven't ordered it, but have been checking back regularly. Its a great soundtrack, but I just wish it was a little more affordable. Maybe I will check with my local record store to see if they can get it to avoid shipping costs.

It's a great collection of songs that would probably cost a fortune to try and get on vinyl piece by piece, but I still can't pull the trigger at that price either.

Wow, nice package - can't believe I missed this when it was first posted. A little on the pricey side, but the artwork is probably what bumped the price up. Surprised the pre-order hasn't sold out yet. so decided to pick one up.

Screw it, I picked a copy of the LP up. Was leaning towards one of the QOTSA Track Jackets, but shipping was $20 in the US? QOTSA's loss is Mondo's gain.

Also, my order number was just over 1200. Not sure if thats an indication of the # of LP's orders at this point, or just all orders from the shop.

This soundtrack is excellent. Goes head to head with Reservoir Dogs and Dazed and Confused. Can't wait to see the movie again.

Nope. I don't care for 70's music. Let me clarify that, 70's pop. Meatloaf and stuff like that is not my cup of tea. I know the "Ain't no mountain high enough" because my track coach used to sing it.

You'd be amazed on what people enjoy that I just don't get...

    OMG TY

I pre-ordered the Vinyl as a gift for a friend. Very happy to have the soundtrack on my Googles.

I think the soundtrack was my 2nd favorite part of the movie. But it's hard to separate since the music was basically a character?

It doesn't make a difference. There have been so many things sold on the site since it went up. The order number is meaningless.
